This late in the season, each start and sit decision for players on your fantasy football rosters becomes more and more crucial for you to nail. The importance is magnified this close to the playoffs -- for teams in tight contention for first-round byes or even to make the playoffs, making sure to set the best players in your lineups is vitally important.
Even if you have a losing record and simply want to upset a winning team or play for pride, you can get something good out of maximizing the points you can score each week. It's impossible to get it perfect, but the closer you can get, the better.
So who are five players on most fantasy rosters, and if you have them, should you start them?
Should I Start Ladd McConkey for Fantasy Football?
It's probably a good idea to start him! One of the frustrating things about owning Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey has been the Chargers' partiality to running the ball at a high rate, but that may not be an option against a stout Baltimore Ravens run defense in Week 12.
Overshadowed (understandably) by went wrong in Pittsburgh, the Ravens have been low-key addressing their biggest issue: pass defense.

However, expecting him to have a massive day due to previous teams dicing up BAL's defense through the air may be somewhat misguided. The Ravens' pass defense clamped down hard by making the personnel changes described above, and it worked wonders, as they limited Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson to just 205 passing yards and one INT.
Luckily for McConkey, his quarterback, Justin Herbert, is an elite talent, and if the Ravens have offensive success, Los Angeles could be forced to throw the ball often. That will help the rookie wideout, obviously. He's been playing excellent football lately. You should start him.
Should I Start Tank Dell for Fantasy Football?
It may be a lost season for Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell at this point. He's likely still recovering from the broken leg he picked up last season and the gunshot wound he suffered in the offseason. There are other issues as well. Houston's offensive line has played horribly, putting quarterback C.J. Stroud under constant duress.

Blitzes, stunts, twists, and other creative moves from pass-rushers have wreaked havoc on Stroud's timing and confidence and thrown off the timing of many of his plays. It's evident to many watching the Texans play, and it's seemed to affect his confidence. His mechanics also don't look right sometimes, leading to awkward turnover-worthy plays.

This isn't the Stroud we're used to seeing. A poor pass-blocking offensive line is one of the worst things you can have for a passing game. Considering Dell only caught four of seven targets for 54 yards against a heavily depleted Dallas Cowboys secondary in Week 11, it's probably worth benching him against a much more solid Tennessee Titans unit in Week 12.
Should I Start D.J. Moore for Fantasy Football?
Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore has clearly benefitted from the firing of former offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. His replacement, Thomas Brown, called an excellent game against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11, which saw Moore catch all seven of his targets for 62 yards.

It's not perfect by any means, and quarterback Caleb Williams has a lot of improving to do. But Brown made it a point to get Moore involved, and he's worth starting in PPR as a WR3/FLEX in this new offensive system. He probably won't give you WR1 numbers due to target competition and middling QB play, though.
Should I Start DeVonta Smith for Fantasy Football?
There are a few reasons why you should bench Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring). Firstly, he's dealing with a hamstring issue and wasn't able to practice on Wednesday. Additionally, he's been unstartable in his last two games, scoring 3.4 and 6.9 PPR fantasy points.

Despite playing last week, he was listed on the injury report with a hamstring issue then as well. It seems to be something that's limiting him, and his poor performances in Week 10 and Week 11 back that up. He doesn't seem to be 100%. It's better to bench him until he's fully healthy.
Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?
No. This may come as a surprise, but he'll face lockdown corner Patrick Surtain II when his team takes on the Denver Broncos on Sunday. This is a matchup you want to avoid at all costs. There are some teams you just need to bench your WRs against, and Denver is one of them.
