Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) continues to recover from the torn ACL he suffered in the Rams' Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Detroit Lions on January 14, 2024. He hasn't seen the field since his injury, which is expected, as torn ACLs typically put players out of action for 10-12 months.
No. 89 should have a chance to play this season, but there are a variety of factors working against him being productive in fantasy. Aside from the major injury, the team typically concentrates its offense around its superstars.
So will Higbee start when he's back? Here is the latest outlook on the Los Angeles tight end.

Will Tyler Higbee Start for the Rams When He Returns?
It's tough to say at this point. He's 31 years old, and while he's a talented player, he probably won't be anywhere near his healthy 2022 form when he was the TE6 overall in full-PPR scoring. He regressed markedly in 2023, finishing as the TE24 due to having fewer catches, yards, and touchdowns.

He's the most talented player at his position on the roster, but he will likely see restricted snaps upon his return. Players generally don't see a huge amount of playing time in their first few games back from ACL tears, even when coaches insist they'll have no restrictions.
Tyler Higbee Fantasy Football Outlook
For fantasy purposes, there's no reason to consider rostering or starting Higbee. Rams head coach Sean McVay said the nine-year vet is still a "couple of weeks away" from his return. Even if he makes it back on the field by Week 15, he'll likely see a ramp-up in activity and may not have a full workload until after Week 17.

In his place, TEs Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen will play the majority of snaps at TE for Los Angeles, but they've not been great fantasy options either. Managers should look to different teams for productive tight ends for the rest of 2024.
