Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd (ankle, hamstring, appendix) is on a short list of the players with the worst injury luck of the season. It's only his first year, but he's dealt with a multitude of serious injuries that have kept him out of all but one game.
He's totaled just seven touches in one game so far, so he's had the ball in his hands less than one time per week. That isn't conducive to a good season. It would be odd if he were to be the starter so soon, especially with an established player ahead of him on the depth chart.
So will Lloyd be the starting RB when he returns?

Will MarShawn Lloyd Start For The Packers When He Returns?
No. Even if he were to play, he hasn't practiced for most of the season, and has very little NFL experience in any capacity. Lead back Josh Jacobs will keep his job, and he's been playing well. He's averaging just under 4.8 yards per carry, and has been handling a heavy workload (176 touches in 11 games).

There would be no reason to bench him over a rookie who, while talented, hasn't been evaluated consistently on an NFL field by his team. Jacobs is the starter, and with the way things are going with Lloyd, that won't change any time soon.
MarShawn Lloyd Fantasy Football Outlook
It's looking like there won't be an outlook. Due to his appendicitis, the team will probably opt to place him on injured reserve yet again. He was activated from IR, but it's a complicated situation -- due to his appendicitis popping up, he's likely to be placed on injured reserve yet again.
Packers activated MarShawn Lloyd off IR. They’ll now likely put him back on IR to re-start his clock after his appendicitis last week two days after his 21-day window opened.

For fantasy purposes, the most likely outcome is that there is no season for the freshman back. He can be safely dropped in all leagues now. There are better players to use bench spots on.
