Bears Release Nate Davis
1 week agoThe Chicago Bears released veteran offensive guard Nate Davis on Wednesday after signing him to a three-year, $30 million free-agent contract in 2023. Davis was a late scratch for the team's Week 10 loss to the New England Patriots last Sunday due to a back injury and will now hit the open market. It's yet another move that the Bears have made on offense heading into their Week 11 tilt against the division-rival Green Bay Packers after firing offensive coordinator Shane Waldron earlier this week. The 28-year-old Davis started only 13 games for the Bears after signing with them last offseason. Davis is now subject to waivers, and any team that claims him will be responsible for paying the remaining $3.9 million that he's due in fully guaranteed salary. More than half of Davis' $30 million is guaranteed. Davis started the first two games this year before being benched for Matt Pryor.
