Lions vs. Texans Sunday Night Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Jared Goff, C.J. Stroud, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tank Dell, Nico Collins, Jameson Williams, and more

Amon-Ra St. Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

It's hard to believe it's Week 10...but here we are! Let's take a look at some fantasy football outlooks for tonight's primetime clash. We have an exciting matchup for Sunday Night Football between two of the league's most interesting teams, as the Detroit Lions take on the Houston Texans.

Dan Campbell's bunch left Week 9 with both a 7-1 record and a huge divisional road win over the Packers. The winners of six straight, Detroit has arguably been the NFL's best team to this point. That said, another tough road challenge awaits against Houston on Sunday Night Football.

We'll be bringing you Sunday Night Football analysis all year long, focusing on who to definitely start, who is on the fence, and who should find the bench. Let's dive into this awesome Sunday Night matchup. You can also read all Week 10 Matchups for the entire slate. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Detroit Lions at Houston Texans - 8:20 pm ET

Spread: Lions -3.5

Total: 49.5

Matchup Outlooks

QB Jared Goff

The Lions haven't needed to lean on Jared Goff much over the past few weeks, as the quarterback has attempted only 37 passes across the last two games. However, expect Goff to sling it more in a great matchup on Sunday night. The Texans have allowed a top-12 quarterback in three of the past four games while giving up at least three passing touchdowns in all three of those games. As a result, he will be a sneaky QB1 option this week.

WR Tank Dell

With Collins (hamstring) still not practicing, Tank Dell should continue to operate as the Texans' top wideout on Sunday. That makes him a strong WR2 option in a great matchup against the Lions' secondary. Detroit has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts, and Dell saw nine targets without Collins and Stefon Diggs (knee) last week.

Update: Dell is questionable due to a back injury but will play. Nico Collins is questionable due to a hamstring injury and is considered a game-time decision. If Collins suits up, you are playing him as a strong WR1 option in a great matchup.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

Since Goff hasn't thrown many passes in recent weeks, Amon-Ra St. Brown's production is down. But fantasy managers should continue playing him in Week 10. The Texans have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to slot wideouts, and slot wideouts like DeMario Douglas (92 yards and one touchdown) and Josh Downs (109 yards and one touchdown) have had big games against this secondary recently.

RB Joe Mixon

This is a tough matchup for Mixon, considering the Lions have allowed only two top-20 fantasy running backs all year. However, you aren't sitting him because of this matchup. The Texans running back has been unstoppable this season, averaging 21.4 PPR fantasy points per game. He's a strong RB1 play this weekend.

TE Dalton Schultz

Fantasy managers should likely stay away from Dalton Schultz in fantasy this week, unless in deeper leagues. Schultz has yet to score in double figures in PPR formats this year and now faces a Lions defense that ranks second against fantasy tight ends this season. Detroit also hasn't allowed a top-16 fantasy tight end in four straight games.

TE Sam LaPorta

Sam LaPorta has been one of the bigger disappointments in fantasy this season. He has scored more than 10 PPR fantasy points just twice this season and will enter Week 10 as the TE18 of the year. As a result, there are likely better options to start at tight end this week. The Texans have also allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to the position this season.

QB C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud has not finished as a top-12 fantasy quarterback in five straight games. With Collins not practicing and Diggs out for the year, Stroud will be more of a QB2 option in Week 10. The Lions have also not allowed a top-12 fantasy quarterback in four straight weeks.

Lions RBs

The Texans have done a good job stopping the run this season. They are allowing only 82.9 rush yards per game to running backs this season and the third-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. However, Gibbs and David Montgomery are still must-starts in Week 10. Gibbs has scored seven touchdowns across the last six games, while Montgomery has totaled double-digit fantasy points in PPR formats in eight games.

WR Jameson Williams

Jameson Williams was activated from the suspension list earlier this week, and he should go right back into being the Lions WR2 on offense. The only problem is that Williams wasn't given many opportunities on offense in his last couple of games before the suspension. From Week 3 to Week 7, the explosive wideout only saw 10 total targets. He'll be a riskier flex option this weekend against the Texans.

Fantasy-Relevant Injuries:

  • Nico Collins (Hamstring) - Questionable, Game-Time Decision
  • Tank Dell (Back) - Questionable, Expected to Play
