Buy Low, Sell High Week 10 Fantasy Trade Value Recommendations - Trey McBride, Deebo Samuel, DeAndre Hopkins, more

Trey McBride - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers, Tight End

Welcome all to Week 10 of the NFL season. The fantasy football landscape is constantly shifting, and with the stretch run to the playoffs now in full swing, every decision you make can significantly impact your title hopes. Injuries and bye weeks have tested our depth, and it’s becoming clear that making the right moves on the trade market could be the difference between making the playoffs and watching from the sidelines.

This week, we’re looking at the critical Buy Low and Sell High opportunities. If you’re dealing with a few underperformers or taking a hit from recent injuries, now is the perfect time to target some players primed for a rebound. Conversely, if you've been riding the high of a breakout performer, it might be time to cash in on that value before their production plateaus.

The next few weeks will be critical, with teams jockeying for playoff spots. Whether aiming to build depth, shore up weaknesses, or make a bold move to push your team to the top, targeting the right players at the right time can give you the edge you need. Let’s dive into the best trade candidates for Week 10.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2024:

Fantasy Football Buy-Low Trade Targets

TE Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

Trey McBride has been a solid fantasy option at tight end this season, but with other breakout players at the position, he may not seem as special as he once did. For fantasy managers in win-now mode, McBride might be viewed as something other than a must-have asset, especially with a bye week on the horizon in Week 11.

This makes now an ideal time to target him in a trade, especially if his current owner is content with his production but not fully satisfied. One of the biggest reasons to be excited about McBride is that he's still yet to score a touchdown this season.

His usage in the Cardinals' offense has been steady, and he came so close to finding the end zone in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears—only for Kyler Murray to miss him wide-open in the back of the end zone. McBride's lack of touchdowns is an anomaly, and with natural regression, his scoring should start to rise as the season goes on.

Looking ahead, McBride's schedule is particularly appealing for fantasy managers preparing for the playoffs. In Weeks 15-17, the Cardinals face the Patriots, Panthers, and Rams—all defenses that have struggled against tight ends this season. With a soft fantasy playoff slate and plenty of upside, McBride is a great buy-low target who could pay off big as the season winds down.

WR Deebo Samuel, San Francisco

Between illness and injury, Deebo Samuel hasn’t been able to showcase his elite talent this season fully. However, now is the perfect time to buy low on him, especially with the 49ers coming off a bye week. If you want to strengthen your roster for the second half of the season, Samuel could be a key piece, provided he returns to full health and the 49ers’ offense regains its rhythm.

With San Francisco pushing for a playoff spot, getting Samuel involved will be critical to their success. The 49ers are also set to get Christian McCaffrey back, which should boost the entire offense and create more favorable matchups for Samuel on the outside. As San Francisco's core players get healthy, Deebo can potentially be the offense's focal point—especially with a critical change in the wide receiver room.

Speaking of changes, with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) sidelined for the season, Samuel becomes the clear-cut number-one option in the passing game. While McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle will continue to dominate in the middle of the field, Samuel will likely see a bump in targets and opportunities on the outside.

Even though McCaffrey’s involvement in the offense may cut into Samuel’s rushing attempts, Deebo should still benefit from the extra work in the passing game, particularly with Aiyuk out. Now is the time to make a move for Deebo before the 49ers’ offense clicks into gear and his value skyrockets.

RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants

After a lackluster performance in Week 9, Tyrone Tracy Jr. is an excellent buy-low candidate—especially for managers planning ahead for the fantasy playoffs. However, this is a move for those with some patience, as the Giants are on a bye next week. If you’re not in immediate "win-now" mode, now could be the perfect time to grab Tracy before his value rises.

This week, Tracy and the Giants face one of the best matchups for fantasy running backs: the Carolina Panthers, who have struggled to contain running backs all season. With a solid workload in recent weeks, Tracy has shown he can be a difference-maker in the right matchup, and this game in Germany could be the perfect springboard for a strong finish to the season.

The Giants' schedule features several favorable rushing matchups, with their only tough test coming against the Baltimore Ravens. These matchups should aid Tracy’s ability to continue his breakout, provided he keeps seeing the workload he’s been getting.

Another reason to feel optimistic about Tracy is the lack of competition in the backfield. Backup Devin Singletary has struggled to make an impact this season and doesn’t threaten Tracy’s role much. With the Giants seemingly out of playoff contention, they’ll likely turn to younger players like Tracy for the remainder of the season, giving him plenty of opportunity to continue to develop and produce.

With his value at a low point after a poor performance and the Giants on a bye week next week, now is the perfect time to sneak him off an impatient manager’s roster. If you’re looking ahead to the fantasy playoffs, Tracy could provide valuable depth—and even some startable weeks—down the stretch.

Fantasy Football Sell-High Trade Targets

WR DeAndre Hopkins, Kansas City Cheifs

DeAndre Hopkins has quickly revitalized his fantasy value since joining the Kansas City Chiefs, thanks to the presence of Patrick Mahomes and a recent two-touchdown performance. Hopkins posted 86 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions last week, and his stock is through the roof.

There’s no better way to inject life into a veteran receiver’s fantasy potential than a Mahomes-led offense, and right now, Hopkins is riding high. However, while Hopkins has enjoyed a couple of solid weeks, it's important to remember that the Chiefs are still a defense-first, run-heavy team.

The increased passing volume we've seen over the past two weeks can be more attributed to favorable matchups against the Raiders and Buccaneers rather than a philosophical shift in the Chiefs' offensive approach. With Isiah Pacheco set to return soon and the Chiefs likely returning to their ground-and-pound roots, the passing game might not sustain this elevated production level.

Kansas City faces a challenging schedule, particularly in the fantasy playoffs. In December, the Chiefs will take on the Browns, Texans, and Steelers—all formidable defenses—outdoors, which could damage their passing attack, especially in cold-weather games.

While Hopkins is undoubtedly a valuable asset in any offense led by Mahomes, if a manager is willing to pay up for him as a top-15 wide receiver based on his recent performance, now is the time to sell high.

If you can move Hopkins for a more consistent, high-floor WR1 or use his recent performance to trade up for a different asset, cashing in on his elevated value could be the best play.

RB Rico Dowdle, Dallas Cowboys

Rico Dowdle has been among the few bright spots in the Dallas Cowboys' struggling offense this season. Dowdle has shown some promise in the running and passing game, especially after a strong performance last week. However, while his recent success may have raised his value, now is the perfect time to sell high.

Even before losing Dak Prescott to injury, the Cowboys' offense could have been more cohesive and efficient. Things aren't likely to improve with Cooper Rush taking over at quarterback. The passing game has become increasingly anemic, with star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) struggling to play at full strength and no other receiver stepping up to take pressure off the ground game.

Given these offensive limitations and the increasing likelihood that Dallas will miss the playoffs, touchdown opportunities will be scarce moving forward.

While Dowdle’s role in both the running and passing game has increased, the biggest concern is the future of the backfield. With the potential for veteran backs like Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook to re-enter the mix, Dowdle’s workload could be reduced, especially once the Cowboys start leaning more on a committee approach.

While he has flashed solid production, Dallas has been hesitant to give him a proper bell-cow role, and his usage may become unpredictable once the other backs are fully integrated.

If Dowdle is on your roster, it's a good time to move him. Sell him to a running-back-needy manager who is optimistic about his recent performance but may need to fully recognize the potential for his role to shrink down the stretch.

Take advantage of Dowdle's recent performance and increased touches, but be aware that his long-term fantasy outlook is uncertain, especially with more mouths to feed in the backfield. Move him for a more stable asset while his value peaks.

WR DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles

DeVonta Smith has been on an impressive tear for the past two weeks, making him a prime sell-high candidate. While his recent performances have been stellar, much of his production has come with other key Eagles’ playmakers sidelined due to injury.

With A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert set to return to the lineup soon, Smith’s usage and target share will likely dip significantly, making now the ideal time to capitalize on his peak value. The absence of Brown and Goedert has boosted Smith’s current role as the No. 1 receiver in Philadelphia. However, once those two are back, the Eagles' offense will return to its usual distribution of targets.

This, coupled with a heavy focus on their ground game with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley in the backfield, means fewer passing opportunities overall, particularly in the red zone. In short-yardage and goal-line situations, the Eagles trust Hurts and Barkley to punch it in with their legs, further limiting Smith’s touchdown upside.

Another reason to consider moving Smith is the Eagles' challenging playoff schedule. Over the final three weeks of the season, Philadelphia faces tough matchups against the Washington Commanders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Dallas Cowboys—two of three defenses that have been tough on receivers.

The only favorable matchup for Smith during this stretch is against Dallas in Week 17, making it harder to trust him as a reliable WR1 in the fantasy playoffs.

If you can sell Smith for a more consistent WR1 or upgrade at another position, now’s the time to make the move. While Smith has had an impressive run, his role in the offense will decrease as the Eagles get healthier, and the tough playoff schedule only adds to the risk. Trade him while his value is high and before his usage declines.
