Gameweek 11 Preview - Fantasy Premier League 2024-25 Tips and Captaincy Picks

Gameweek Tips - Fantasy Premier League, Soccer

This article provides a preview of what Gameweek 11 has in store for fantasy managers, including top captain selections and strong picks for the weekly FPL Challenge game.

Gameweek 10 brought plenty of excitement to the Premier League, with Liverpool climbing to the top after a 2-1 home win over Brighton. Meanwhile, both Arsenal and Man City suffered away defeats, adding even more drama to the title race challenge this season. But what surprises does Gameweek 11 have in store? Let’s dive in to find out!

The FPL Challenge -- Test Lab series introduces its final task titled "Accuracy," where shots on target are worth three points. As always, we’ll offer weekly breakdowns of the top assets to target and help you maximize your points potential.

The Gameweek 11 deadline for the 2024-25 Fantasy Premier League season is Saturday, November 9, at 10:00 a.m. EST, when four games kick off. Also, check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every EPL and UCL slate with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

Gameweek 11 Tips

Double Up on Liverpool, Man United, and Tottenham Attacking Assets

Gameweek 11 presents a favorable set of home fixtures for Liverpool, Man United, and Tottenham. Tottenham and Liverpool, in particular, excelled in their attacking numbers, with a combination of 41 goals scored (22 goals for Spurs, 19 goals for Liverpool) in the Premier League.

Manchester United's upcoming home tie presents an excellent chance for interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy to secure his first Premier League win. This fixture could be a great opportunity for FPL managers to invest in United's attacking assets.

Based on goal projections, Liverpool, Man United, and Tottenham are expected to generate 2.35, 2.45, and 2.90 xG (expected goals), respectively, against their opponents in Gameweek 11.

This week's recommended players for FPL returns include Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Man United's skipper Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund, and Spurs' Son Heung-min, Dominic Solanke, and Brennan Johnson.

Hold On To Your Brentford Assets

Brentford has scored an impressive 14 out of its 19 goals this season at home, setting up Gameweek 11 for a potential goal fest as it welcomes Bournemouth to London.

If you own any Brentford assets, it’s wise to hold onto them for this fixture. Bryan Mbeumo, leading the team with 71 fantasy points, and Yoane Wissa, with 41 points, both make strong differential captaincy picks for the week.

Gameweek 11 Top Captain Picks

The weekend fixtures present a list of fascinating options for your captaincy choice. Players like Phil Foden facing Brighton, Dominic Solanke at home to Ipswich, and Man United's Bruno Fernandes against Leicester all present strong cases. However, my top two picks would be:

Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) - Liverpool

The 32-year-old veteran tops the FPL rankings with 93 points, boasting seven goals and five assists in his first 10 league matches this season, making him a must-have asset in recent weeks.

With Liverpool’s next home fixture at Anfield against Aston Villa projected to yield 2.35 expected goals, Mo Salah stands out as our top RotoBaller captain pick for Gameweek 11.

Cole Palmer (£11.0m) - Chelsea

Chelsea's talisman, "Ice Cold" Cole Palmer, has had a relatively quiet run, especially in the big games. However, Gameweek 11 could be the moment the Englishman's fortunes change for the better when he comes against London rival Arsenal.

As of this writing, Palmer has yet to return to team training, but if he’s declared fit and makes the starting lineup on Sunday, he could play a pivotal role in worsening Arsenal's recent league struggles.

FPL Challenge: Test Lab

The FPL Challenge section for the 2024-25 season is back, and RotoBaller remains your go-to source for valuable insights on selecting the right assets for any challenge.

The 10th challenge, "Foul Play," focused on selecting a team of five players and paying close attention to winning the most fouls while avoiding those who committed fouls. This week, we'll introduce a fresh task and spotlight our top assets to help you maximize points for the new challenge.

In case you missed it, here is a breakdown of what is expected from the FPL Challenge: Test Lab event.

The Test Lab is a four-gameweek run where the future of Fantasy Premier League will try out a few experiments for our fantasy teams. This series covers four tests focusing on earning points through different players and play styles.

  • Gameweek 8: Ball Winners - Interceptions and tackles are worth 1 point. Three recoveries are worth 1 point.
  • Gameweek 9: Playmakers - Key passes and crosses worth 2 points.
  • Gameweek 10: Foul Play - Fouls won are worth 2 points. Fouls conceded are worth -1 point.
  • Gameweek 11: Accuracy - Shots on target are worth 3 points.

Test Lab FPL Challenge: Accuracy - Players to Target

Week 11 of the FPL Challenge, Accuracy, highlights selecting attacking players who are likely to take more shot attempts and are eager to put the ball behind the goalkeeper, as each shot on target guarantees three points this week.

RotoBaller's top five picks for this week's Challenge are:

  • In goal, Andre Onana will be relied on for a high likelihood of keeping a clean sheet against Leicester and additional bonus points for saves.
  • On defense, Rayan Aït-Nouri's five shots on target are second-ranked for defenders and he could excel from his attack positioning for Wolves.
  • Liverpool's talisman, Mohamed Salah, has 20 shots on target from 30 shots and a suitable home fixture puts him as a keen favorite to have and get the armband this week.
  • Brentford's leading scorer, Bryan Mbeumo, is a decent attacking threat and has amassed 12 shots for the Bees and scored eight goals as he joins the Egyptian king in the midfield.
  • Nottingham Forest's striker, Chris Wood, has 14 shots on target this season and an impressive five goals in his last four league games. He rounds off our lineup as the sole forward in a 1-2-1 formation.

Feel free to select any other top FPL Challenge alternatives that are not mentioned above. Best of luck to everyone participating in this week's challenge!
