All but one of the games of the NFL's Week 9 schedule have been completed, and there's just one more -- Monday Night Football. If you're not watching that game, you might not be one of the NFL's most avid followers. A nice postlude to the chaos that occurs every Sunday, MNF can be relaxing for some.
Of course, there are always die-hard team fans and fantasy managers whose hopes and dreams all come down to a Monday event where a bunch of people they will never meet will play a professional sport and do their best to win, not caring about stats either way.
Anyways, who's playing on MNF, what are some ways to watch the game, and who's most likely to walk away with a victory?
Who is Playing on Monday Night Football?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who sit at 4-4, will travel to Missouri to take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, who are riding a seven-game win streak. Both teams have enjoyed success, though the Bucs certainly wish they didn't have any losses. Tampa Bay boasts a better offense than KC, but both have been dealing with a ton of injuries on the offensive side of the ball.
Not listed on this report are Kansas City wide receivers Rashee Rice (knee, out for the season) and Hollywood Brown (shoulder, out for the season). Both will be sorely missed. The Chiefs will also be without star running back Isiah Pacheco (leg), who is slated to return sometime in the next few weeks but won't be ready on Monday.
Tampa Bay, meanwhile, will be without its top-2 wideouts, Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle, out for the season). This means both squads will be trotting out depleted pass-catching corps, unfortunately.
When and How Can I Watch The Game?
Kickoff will happen around 8:15 ET. The game will air live on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes (for a Spanish-language broadcast). Subscribers to Fubo, NFL+, Sling TV, and YouTubeTV will also be able to watch the game.
Each of the options has its own pricing plans that change often. It's best to check out each option and see how much it would cost you -- they can vary by what country you live in.
Who is Going to Win?
It's hard to pick the Bucs to win, considering the overall weakness of their defense and their lack of talent at receiver. While TE Cade Otton is certainly capable of helping his quarterback, Baker Mayfield, move the ball down the field, the top WRs will be Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Jalen McMillan (hamstring).
So their best two receivers are nursing injuries that have a high rate of recurrence and could bother them greatly during the game. It's not good news for them. It was already hard enough to pick a team to beat Kansas City, but the context of injuries makes it even harder.
Expect the Chiefs to win and improve to 8-0. We'd love to see some chaos, though.
