Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (foot) is the RB21 on the season despite having already had his bye week. He's been a breath of fresh air for fantasy managers as he's putting up easy RB2 numbers despite his ADP being around the RB27 coming into 2024.
His backfield mate, RB Tyjae Spears (hamstring), hasn't been as much of a factor as anticipated. Although the coaching staff indicated that they wanted the backfield to be a nearly even split, Spears hasn't earned nearly as much volume as Pollard, allowing the former Dallas Cowboys player the lion's share of the touches.
So is Pollard hurt or healthy now, and will he play in Week 9?

Is Tony Pollard Hurt? Injury Update for Week 9
He's suffering from a foot injury currently. Sometimes no news (or minimal news) is good news, and there haven't been any reports that he's likely to sit out of his Week 9 contest. This could just be a veteran rest day, which wouldn't be a surprise, since he's a 27-year old vet handling a large workload.
Tony Pollard Out Wednesday
Titans RB Tony Pollard (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. It's a new injury for Pollard, but we've heard nothing to suggest that he's in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. We'll see if he gets back on the practice field ... pic.twitter.com/3I2ZUYIaO9

There's not a whole lot else to do than wait and see what happens. A return to practice Thursday or Friday would mean good news for No. 20.
Tony Pollard Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 9
Not only does the sixth-year pro have workhorse usage in the run game, but he's been involved in the passing game nicely as well, earning four, six, and three targets in his last three games. This gives him even more upside in PPR scoring formats. Tony P is one of the best RBs in the NFL at creating yards after contact.
We need to appreciate what Tony Pollard is doing right now!

He'll face the New England Patriots, who have allowed the fifth-most points to opposing running backs this season. They haven't been effective against the run at all. Pollard is already a must-start RB2 every week as long as his volume remains steady, but he has RB1 upside in this matchup.
