The Seattle Seahawks offense took a hit in Week 8 as DK Metcalf missed the matchup due to a knee injury. His absence left a noticeable gap in the team's passing game, and fans and fantasy managers alike are hoping he will be ready to return soon.
The 26-year-old Ole Miss alum has been a staple for the Seahawks since he joined the league in 2019. With a sprained MCL keeping him sidelined against the Buffalo Bills, Seattle's offense lacked its usual spark, making his potential return against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 significant.
What should we expect from Metcalf for the remainder of the season? Let's take a look at what is happening with him right now.

DK Metcalf Injury Update for Fantasy Football
According to Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, the team hopes their star receiver will play in Week 9. Suffering a Grade 1 MCL sprain during Week 7's game against Atlanta, the two-time Pro Bowler was carted off the field, an unusual sight for someone who had missed only one game in his six-year career.
Sitting out the 31-10 loss to Buffalo highlighted just how essential his presence is, as Seattle's offense posted season lows in both points and yards without him in the lineup.
The Seahawks receiver averages a standout 16.2 yards per reception, a boost the offense clearly missed, with the team averaging only 10.5 yards per catch.
Jake Bobo saw an increase in snaps with 39, though the overall impact fell short of the deep-threat ability Seattle's star wideout provides.
With a bye week on the horizon in Week 10, the organization may use extra caution, but there is hope Metcalf will be back on the field against the Rams. Fantasy managers will need to monitor his practice status this week.
DK Metcalf Fantasy Football Outlook
Once he is healthy, the Oxford, Mississippi native remains one of the league's elite wide receivers for fantasy purposes.
He has logged 568 receiving yards this season, and his size, speed, and playmaking ability make him a high-upside option in Week 9. Should he practice this week without limitations, he will be a solid candidate to start against the Rams' secondary.
JSN acknowledged that he threw into double coverage here but says he has faith in DK Metcalf in those situations to go up and get it.
Geno Smith said it was “awesome” and joked, “Usually when I throw it up in double coverage, it doesn't end up like that.” pic.twitter.com/zwum3ENHi2

Fantasy managers will want to watch for any updates, but if he suits up on Sunday, he is a must-start in most leagues.
With a much-needed bye week on the way for Seattle in Week 10, the second-round draft pick could bounce back to full form. For fantasy, his value remains high, making him a trustworthy asset to retain for the season.
