The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to Homestead this weekend for the second race in the Round of 8. After his win at Talladega, Grant Enfinger is locked into the Championship 4, but three more spots remain up for grabs.
It feels like it's been a while since we've had Truck Series qualifying and the race on different days. That means we get to take place differential into account in the actual article this week, which is nice because it means y'all won't be DMing me right before the race for advice. (I'm kidding—feel free to DM me NASCAR questions at any point.)
Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Craftsman Truck Series. Corey Heim - $10.1K
Starts First
Corey Heim ran really well here last year, leading 57 laps on his way to a third-place finish. That was his second top-five in two Truck Series starts here. On Saturday, Heim starts from the pole, putting him in a great situation to finish in victory lane. Consider him the favorite on Saturday.
Christian Eckes - $10.0K
Starts Eighth
Truck Series win sims for Homestead:
1. Corey Heim 21.9%
2. Christian Eckes 14.0%
3. Ty Majeski 13.6%
4. Kaden Honeycutt 6.8%
5. Nick Sanchez 6.5%Full win/T3/T5 sims plus values at @FDSportsbook ⤵️ https://t.co/PnCH3ydX3l
— Jim Sannes (@JimSannes) October 25, 2024
Christian Eckes is another driver with a strong track record here but who hasn't ended up winning at this 1.5-mile track yet. He's finished in the top 10 of three of his four Homestead starts though, leading double-digit laps twice. Heim and Eckes have dominated the 2024 season, so seeing both battle for the win this weekend would be fitting.
Ty Majeski - $9.7K
Starts Fifth
Finally, a driver with a Homestead win on his resume. Ty Majeski won the 2022 race here, leading 67 laps in the process. He also posted a top 10 in his other two Truck starts at the track and in his lone Xfinity start at the track back in 2017.
Grant Enfinger - $9.5K
Starts Ninth
After winning at Talladega, Grant Enfinger and this No. 9 truck are locked into the Championship 4. He has nothing to race for except for pride. That lack of pressure could help him contend for another victory on Saturday at a track where he has four top 10s including a runner-up finish in 2018.

Mid-Tier NASCAR Trucks DFS Lineup Options
Layne Riggs - $9.0K
Starts 13th
After a slow start to the year, Layne Riggs looks like he'll be a title contender next season. He's finished in the top five in five of the past six races, which includes two wins and a runner-up finish. He starts 13th on Saturday, which is far enough up for him to be a viable contender for the win considering he starts 16th and 18th in his previous wins.
Ben Rhodes - $8.5K
Starts 19th
While Ben Rhodes wasn't great at Homestead earlier in his career, he's posted consecutive top 10s here in the past two seasons, leading double-digit laps in both and finishing second in the race last season.
Connor Zilisch - $8.3K
Starts 16th
Aric Almirola and Connor Zilisch ran the exact same speed to top Xfinity Series practice at Homestead. #NASCAR
— Dustin Albino (@DustinAlbino) October 25, 2024
Connor Zilisch hasn't had a ton of success at oval tracks in his Truck Series starts on them, but he was fourth at Kansas in the Xfinity Series and should be a contender for a top 10 on Saturday if he can keep this car clean.
William Sawalich - $7.6K
Starts 20th
Next season, William Sawalich is set to move up to the Xfinity Series to race for Joe Gibbs Racing. That should say a lot about the talent this kid has, but that talent hasn't manifested in Truck Series results this year as his average finish is just 19.0. Still, this is a guy with 13 ARCA wins in the last two years. There's place differential upside, even if the results don't suggest it.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Sleeper Picks
Tanner Gray - $7.4K
Starts 33rd
Sounds like the 76 of Boyd having issues getting fired. Also doesn’t appear that Tanner Gray will be making a run neither #NASCAR
— Brett Winningham (@NASCAR_BRETT) October 25, 2024
The top place differential play on this slate is Tanner Gray, who starts 33rd after not making a qualifying lap. Gray's average finish this year is 15.0 with five top 10s in 20 races. A top 20 is easily within reach for Gray—conservatively, there are 13 place differential points at play, minimum.
Chase Purdy - $7.3K
Starts 17th
Chase Purdy was 25th at Talladega but posted strong results in the previous two races at Bristol and Kansas. In two previous starts at Homestead, he was 16th and 10th.
Matt Crafton - $6.9K
Starts 22nd
It's obvious that Matt Crafton's best days are behind him. His average finish of 16.4 is his worst mark since 2002 and his seven top 10s this year would be his fewest since that season as well. But this is one of those tracks where I still expect Crafton to make an impact, as he's recorded nine top 10s in a row at the track, including a win in 2015. He was seventh here last year.
Jake Garcia - $6.5K
Starts 26th
This is a weird field for place differential. There's Tanner Gray as I mentioned, but beyond that, the deepest starter I'd be interested in is Jake Garcia, who starts 26th. Garcia has an average finish of 19.2 this season, which is definitely a step down from his 2023 production, but it is still good enough to make him worth playing when he starts 26th.
