4 weeks agoDetroit Lions running back David Montgomery (knee) faces the Tennessee Titans in Week 8, who boast a strong run defense, ranking third in stuff rate and allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs. However, the Titans have allowed the most receiving touchdowns to running backs this season, which could boost Montgomery's upside. He briefly exited last Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings with a knee contusion. The 27-year-old practiced this week and is off the injury report for Week 8. Montgomery averages 16.2 touches and 85.9 total yards, and he's seventh in red zone touches, making him a dependable option for volume and touchdown potential. Montgomery has scored six of Detroit's 11 rushing touchdowns this season, and with the Lions alternating between him and Jahmyr Gibbs, this week appears to be Montgomery's turn to lead the backfield.
