San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) had the biggest game of the season for any wide receiver in Week 3. While he hasn't even reached one third of that point total since, he clearly does have talent and can benefit from the absence of some receivers ahead of him on the depth chart.
Now, lead WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is out for the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL and MCL in Week 7, meaning the other receivers will have a clear uptick in workload moving forward. This leaves the door open for an expanded role for Jennings.
Unfortunately, he's still on the 49ers injury report. So is Jennings hurt or healthy? Will he take the field in Week 8?

Jauan Jennings Injury Update for Fantasy Football
He missed practice on Wednesday to the hip issue that kept him out of Week 7. It's unclear whether he will be able to play in Week 8, when San Francisco takes on the Dallas Cowboys. No exact return timeline has been revealed, nor have the specifics of the injury been divulged, but it's not believed to be serious.
#49ers Jauan Jennings - DNP. Avg = 2 wks. Comments = optimistic. If LP Thurs, data will slightly favor playing Wk 8#Chiefs JuJu Smith-Schuster - Re-aggravated hamstring. Avg = 2-4 wks. Lean Wk 10 for return#Texans Will Anderson - LP. Lean towards playing Wk 8

Fantasy managers should absolutely expect him to play in Week 10, but Sunday night's status is much more uncertain. It will probably be necessary to check back for updates leading up to the game.
Jauan Jennings Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 8
It's a frustrating situation not knowing the true nature of the injury. Some issues impact WR production more than others, even after a return to play, and we won't know if that will be the case for No. 15.
I’m having a hard time gauging Jauan Jennings right now from an injury standpoint. Couple reasons:
•Don’t know his status for Wk8, could miss
•We don’t like hip injuries for WRs. Can often (-) impact route running, separation, sprinting, jumping
•If it’s minor, he’s WR1 https://t.co/QTuzeRekLl— Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT (@jmthrivept) October 22, 2024
If he does play, he's probably worth a speculative WR3/FLEX spot whether or not the team's lead WR, Deebo Samuel Sr. (illness) is able to suit up. Both the WR1 and WR2 positions for San Francisco have had fantasy value in recent memory. The team should still have one of the better offenses in the NFL.
In addition, All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey is still sidelined, so he's not available to take targets away from the rest of the offense. As a result, both tight end George Kittle and the rest of the pass-catchers will continue to see less overall competition for volume in the passing game.
The fifth-year pro should get enough work to have a fantasy-relevant week, and he's a decent start this week.
