Heading into Week 8, evaluating underperforming players on your fantasy roster is crucial.
One such player is Christian Watson of the Green Bay Packers.
Despite his athleticism, Watson's inconsistency makes him a risky fantasy option, especially with better choices on the waiver wire.

Should I Drop Christian Watson in Fantasy Football?
Christian Watson has been too unpredictable this season to trust in fantasy lineups. In Week 6, he performed well with three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals.
However, Week 7 was a major disappointment, as he hauled in just one pass for nine yards on two targets. Five other Packers players, including wideouts Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Jayden Reed, gained more targets than Watson.
#Packers WR corps was healthy yesterday. Routes run on 37 Jordan Love dropbacks:
1. Romeo Doubs 32
2. Jayden Reed 31
3. Christian Watson 19
4. Dontayvion Wicks 17
5. Bo Melton 5
6. Malik Heath 1— Adam Levitan (@adamlevitan) October 21, 2024
This lack of involvement is a concerning trend. Watson's boom-or-bust nature and a reduced role in the Packers offense make him a worthwhile drop in most fantasy leagues.
He has not been a reliable option, and with other wide receivers emerging on the Green Bay roster, it is time to consider dropping him for someone with more steady production. He still holds some value if you are in a deeper league, but moving on from Watson in most leagues is the right play.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 8 Fantasy Football?
If you are dropping Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks are two solid waiver-wire pickups to keep an eye on.
Doubs, rostered in 63% of Sleeper leagues, has posted back-to-back double-digit fantasy points. He has become a more dependable target in the Packers' passing game over the last two weeks.
Additionally, he faces the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8, a defense allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers.

Wicks, rostered in just 34% of Sleeper leagues, scored 13.80 fantasy points in Week 7 and has shown red-zone potential. He also gets a favorable matchup against the Jaguars and should continue seeing targets.
While Doubs is the safer bet, Wicks offers a high upside as a potential flex play this week. If Doubs is available, he should be your top priority.
