Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is best known for his 2021 monster campaign that saw him rack up 145 receptions for 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Those days seem to be long gone, but his Week 1 performance against the Detroit Lions proved he is still capable of big spike weeks.
Against the Lions, Kupp caught 14 of his 21 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown. He added 10 yards on the ground. Sadly, the 31-year-old suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 2 and has not played since. His return is nearing, and fantasy managers are ready to get him back in lineups.
When is Kupp returning? Will he play in Week 8, and what is his fantasy football outlook? Let's dive in.

Cooper Kupp Injury Update
Kupp (ankle) was reportedly close to returning in Week 7, but he was held out with a short turnaround coming in Week 8. The Rams face the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, and Kupp was listed as a full participant on Monday's estimated practice report.

It's too early to say that he will 100% be active on Thursday, but all signs are pointing toward it. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for his latest status updates, but there's a great chance you can insert him in lineups for Week 8.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy Football Outlook
If Kupp suits up in Week 8, it will be against a Minnesota defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to wideouts through seven weeks of the season. Although his floor and ceiling could be limited if his ankle gives him issues, the matchup makes him a must-start option in leagues of all shapes and sizes.
Puka Nacua is not expected to return this week, so Kupp should see a healthy target share. He's a better PPR-league play, but he could put up a big juicy spike week as soon as he returns. His Week 8 outing will say a lot about his rest-of-season outlook, but a WR1 season in points per game is attainable.

It's worth noting the Rams are calling teams about potentially shopping Kupp, but until anything happens, we should view him as a Ram moving forward.
