San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) has had a rough season production-wise. After signing a massive contract ahead of the season, he hasn't looked like his old self, outside of one game. He failed to crack double-digit fantasy points in his first six outings of 2024.
It's been uncharacteristically bad for the freshly-paid wideout. He had a monstrously efficient season in 2023, averaging 17.9 yards per catch, and was the WR14 in full-PPR scoring. It looked like he could break out even further if he got more targets, as he only saw 105 passes go his way.
Unfortunately, it looks like that might not happen for some time. Aiyuk was forced out of the game with an injury and didn't return. So is Brandon Aiyuk hurt or healthy, and will he play in Week 8?

Brandon Aiyuk Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Just earlier today, it was confirmed by sources that No. 11 for the 49ers is now out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. NFL Insider Jordan Schultz confirmed via Twitter that medical tests on Aiyuk's knee showed that he would not be able to return to play at all in 2024.

This is a devastating blow for San Francisco's offense as a whole and for fantasy managers who invested second and third round picks into the stud receiver. He will now have to have surgery to correct his injuries and start the long rehab process to prepare for the 2025 season. The play below shows the injury.

Significant valgus (knee caving inward) here. This puts the ACL and MCL (amongst others) at risk. Hoping for the best pic.twitter.com/1HyyUboFs0

His knee bent the wrong way when hit by a Kansas City Chiefs defender, so it's likely there are ligament tears involved. An ACL tear is likely, considering that other ligament tears aren't necessarily season-ending, but it could be a compound issue to multiple structures in his knee.
Brandon Aiyuk Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 8
Sadly, there is no outlook for the fifth-year pro in Week 8. He'll need at least the remainder of the season and the offseason to recover from his injury and get back in shape, as well as building up play strength and learning to trust his knee again.
Jauan Jennings has been AWESOME in 2024. This feels like this year's Fantasy football league-winner.
Jennings is THIRD in yards per route run:
3.50 - Nico Collins (162 route sample size)
2.87 - Justin Jefferson (185 routes)
2.79 - Jauan Jennings (145 routes) pic.twitter.com/Ydbxn3n5u7— Jacob Gibbs (@jagibbs_23) October 21, 2024
Fantasy managers can look to players like 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings for a possible replacement. He has had a few down weeks, and could be available on waivers. He is the most likely candidate for a similar role and target share. He had a massive game in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, so he can produce well when given enough targets.
