After suffering through a tough rookie campaign in 2023, Quentin Johnston emerged to become a respectable NFL wide receiver. The second-year player from TCU has 14 receptions for 164 yards and three touchdowns through five games in 2024.
The Chargers have been a run-heavy team to start 2024 and quarterback Justin Herbert has dealt with his share of injuries. The defense has been solid as well, and the team hasn't exactly been exciting on offense, yet when Herbert is at his best, we know he can sling the ball all around the yard.
Johnston suffered an ankle injury early in the Chargers' Week 6 contest against the Denver Broncos and was listed as a limited participant in practice all week. So, should we expect to see him out there for Week 7 of Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals?

Quentin Johnston Fantasy Football Injury Update
It's likely that teammate Ladd McConkey (who is also dealing with an injury) will suit up for MNF and it could give the Chargers flexibility to rest Johnston for Week 7.
appears that Joey Bosa and Quentin Johnston are trending towards not going on Monday night. https://t.co/HTeCfoMtmC

The sportsbooks even seem to think that McConkey will be playing in Week 7, and his receiving props are the highest of any of the Chargers' pass catchers for Week 7 on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals.
Quentin Johnston Fantasy Football Injury Impact
Johnston hasn't been an extremely reliable option for fantasy football so far this year, but it's been nice to see him out there making plays compared to last year when many had already labeled him a bust.
Quentin Johnston had battled through what appeared to be a high ankle sprain last week.
Starts off with a DNP. Won’t be surprised if he’s out for MNF https://t.co/nnty2sWlnP— Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT (@jmthrivept) October 17, 2024
The bad news is that the Chargers offense has passed for just 140, 130, 105, 169, and 222 yards through five games this season. Yuck.
Nonetheless, quarterback Justin Herbert has been banged up and the team has struggled to gain its footing on offense throwing the ball. However, the running game has been solid in combination with the Chargers' defense, and they've been able to win games without having to air it out much.
The Chargers quarterback had his best game of the season in Week 6, where he threw for 237 passing yards to go with one passing touchdown.
There's no question that the Chargers' passing attack still needs to shake off some of the rust, but it should get better as the season goes along. Nonetheless, if you are planning on playing Johnston for fantasy football in Week 7, you should probably make some other plans at this point.
