New York Jets star pass rusher Haason Reddick joined the team after the 2023 season. The Philadelphia Eagles traded him to the Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round pick. While New York hoped his addition would bolster the already excellent pass-rush, he hasn't shown up for a game yet.
His holdout is one of the stranger developments of their season, but they need him on the field in a big way. They're just 2-4 after six games, and if they want a chance of leapfrogging both the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills to take the lead in the division, they'll need all the help they can get.
So will Haason Reddick play for the Jets this year or will he be traded?

Will Haason Reddick Play for the Jets Or Be Traded?
This article comes out at an auspicious time. Reddick recently came to an agreement with his team to return to play, ending his six-week holdout and setting him up to return as soon as the team designates him as ready. This comes at a great time for the Jets, too, who are on the verge of making their chances at the playoffs nearly impossible.

It's possible the team gave up some ground, considering the situation that they're in. For teams with losing records early in the season, each loss renders a chance at a playoff run exponentially less likely. The team also waived over $12 million in fines. They want him to be happy and to play lights-out.

Between this deal, the signing of three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, and the demotion of struggling offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett -- by stripping his play-calling duties -- the AFC East's second-worst team is making a concerted effort to halt their losing ways and finally become one of the NFL's better teams.

While the former Eagle will not play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he will report to the team facilities the following Monday, which should put him in line to make his 2024 debut in Week 8, when he and his teammates will take on the New England Patriots in Foxborough.
