It finally happened. There were months of speculation about potential landing spots and rumors of discontent with his old team. There was also a video of now-former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams saying that if he's going to be reunited with anyone, it would be New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It happened.
The eleventh-year veteran was traded to the Jets. He now rejoins his former quarterback of eight seasons. He caught 622 passes for 7.590 yards and 69 touchdowns from Rodgers over that time. To say the pair has a connection is a massive understatement, and this was the perfect landing spot for the three-time First Team All-Pro.
So what is Davante Adams's fantasy football outlook now that he's back with his old quarterback on the New York Jets?

Davante Adams Fantasy Football Outlook For 2024
Fantasy managers who spent an early-round pick on Adams should be ecstatic. This is the best possible landing spot to continue the storied career of this elite receiver. While it will be hard for him to replicate his peak career numbers, considering he's 31 years old and his quarterback is now 40, he's still a great pass-catcher.
#Raiders WR Davante Adams told @ShannonSharpe a few months ago that if he were to be traded/relocated anywhere it would be with #Jets QB Aaron Rodgers. 👀

He's also exactly where he wants to be, and that's important. NFL players are human too, and it's much tougher mentally to play at peak performance in such a competitive sport if you're on a team that doesn't look out for your best interests (or the team's best interests, for that matter). He can do amazing things with a good passer.

He's a masterful route runner and an all-around amazing receiver, but he needs at least a solid quarterback to succeed. He's authored monster seasons with Rodgers and his former quarterbacks with the Raiders (Derek Carr. Jimmy Garoppolo, Gardner Minshew II, and Aidan O'Connell) couldn't provide the level of play to maximize his talents.
When he last played with Aaron Rodgers in 2021, Davante Adams had 123 catches for 1,553 yards. The duo was particularly lethal on dig, curl, go and out routes.
That aligns well with what Rodgers hasn’t been able to do with the Jets, says @Tagreenawalt. https://t.co/dpyszsAFNM pic.twitter.com/1gW0ToT8I5

He's also an excellent puzzle piece to fill in things the Jets have been missing. The Rodgers-Adams connection will allow a more diverse suite of routes to be called, allowing better ability to pick up first downs and exploit gaps in defensive coverages. Most NFL defenses don't have a legion of defensive backs that can guard every route well.
There's also the obvious angle at play here. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, but great receivers elevate the ceilings of great signal-callers even further. New York's offense has been middling at sustaining drives. They have a 41% third-down conversion rate, 13th in the NFL. Expect that to rise.
There are a litany of other reasons why this is a great landing spot for Adams and he can benefit the team, but expect his numbers to improve significantly. He's now a must-start in all leagues. He proved he was still an incredible receiver just two years ago, and has finished inside the top three in PPR scoring three times with Rodgers throwing to him.
It sounds like Aaron Rodgers & Davante Adams are going to be on the #Jets for multiple years.

This connection could be around for years to come. This year, you want to fire up No. 17 for the Jets. He should be in starting lineups in every league in Week 7.
