Juan Soto Goes Deep As Yankees Inch Closer To World Series Appearance
1 month agoNew York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto flexed his muscles in the team's 8-6 victory over the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field on Friday night in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series by going 1-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, a walk and a strikeout. Soto's home run was a two-run shot off right-handed starter Gavin Williams in the first inning, and it was his second long ball of the ALCS against Cleveland. The win gave the Yankees a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Aaron Judge has been cold in the postseason, but Soto and Giancarlo Stanton have picked him up offensively. Soto is now hitting .286 (8-for-28) with two home runs, a double, five RBI, seven walks and five runs scored in eight playoff starts this October. He'll look to keep it rolling in Game 5 on Saturday against right-hander Tanner Bibee.
