4 months agoDallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin will undergo hip surgery on Thursday, which will rule him out of action for 4-6 months. He's already missed five games this season, and it looks like Seguin won't return to the Stars lineup before the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs start. It's a shame because the veteran star was off to a productive start to the year. He has tallied 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 19 appearances. Logan Stankoven has already built up good momentum during the season and will have additional fantasy value with Seguin out of the lineup.

The move is retroactive to Dec. 1, leaving Seguin ineligible for four games. Seguin has been battling a lower-body issue all season, missing four games already. Despite not being at 100 percent, the veteran star has done outstanding work, putting up 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) in 19 appearances. Logan Stankoven (lower body) will come back into the lineup on Monday to replace Seguin.

5 months agoDallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin (lower body) is expected to rejoin the lineup for Thursday's tilt against Chicago. The veteran was unavailable for the previous game against Florida. Unfortunately, it looks like we might often see a Seguin-less Stars in this campaign because it has been reported that he's dealing with a lingering lower-body injury. He has been absent for four games already. With that said, Seguin has been very productive when he has played, scoring five goals and amassing nine points in seven appearances. He's projected to skate with Sam Steel and Matt Duchene on the third line versus the Blackhawks, who allow the tenth-most shots on goal in the league (30.4).

After scoring and logging 16:46 of ice time in Friday's 6-4 loss to Florida, Seguin sat out Saturday's rematch between the teams in Finland. It's the second time Seguin has landed on the shelf this season with a lower-body injury. He missed three games the first time he was out. When he's been in the lineup, the veteran has been productive, logging five goals and nine points in seven appearances. Mavrik Bourque moved up in the lineup during Seguin's absence on Saturday. After scoring his first career goal on Friday, Bourque couldn't make a mark in Saturday's game.
