6 months agoToronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (thumb) has been cleared for contact and went through a full practice on Tuesday. The speedy guard is working his way back from a thumb injury he sustained before training camp. As a result of the injury, Quickley has missed all four of Toronto's preseason games. His status for the final preseason game on Friday versus Brooklyn will be determined by how Quickley feels after practicing the next couple of days. Missing the preseason certainly isn't ideal for Quickley, but he's set to be healthy for the start of the regular season, and that's the most important thing. The 25-year-old is gearing up for his first full campaign with the Raptors, and the expectations are high following Quickley's good spell he had with the team last term after arriving in a mid-season trade from New York.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 days agoToronto Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley (rest) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Tuesday's encounter with the Chicago Bulls. The former Knick has received regular rest days recently and was held out of action when the Raptors visited the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Jamal Shead started instead of Quickley and had a good two-way outing with 11 points, nine assists, three steals, and one block. Shead is set to drop back to the bench on Tuesday, but he could become a fantasy target again for Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers when Quickley is likely to come out of the lineup once more for rest purposes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 week agoToronto Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley (rest) will not suit up on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets. The team will rest Quickley on Wednesday, and he will likely return to the lineup for Friday's action against the Charlotte Hornets. Quickley has had quite a few rest days lately, with Jamal Shead coming into the starting lineup as his replacement on each occasion. Shead has proven to be an effective player and looks like a good addition to fantasy squads for Wednesday night. In a starting role, he has averaged 11.4 points and 6.0 assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoToronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (rest) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Raptors aren't playing for anything at this point, so they aren't going to risk the health of their young guard. Quickley played on Friday and looked solid with 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 25 minutes of action. The expectation is that Quickley will be back in action for the second leg of the back-to-back set on Monday. The absence of Quickely should mean that Jamal Shead and A.J. Lawson see increased playing time. Between the two, Lawson has been the more reliable of the two in terms of streaming appeal.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoToronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (rest) will not play in Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Toronto will start a stretch of three games in four nights, and the team will rest Quickley against the 76ers. With him out, Jamal Shead will likely start at point guard. When Quickley sat out against the Washington Wizards last week, Shead nearly had a double-double in a starting role with 11 points and nine assists. There's no RJ Barrett (personal) on Wednesday, and Scottie Barnes (hand) might also miss the game, creating more offensive opportunities for Shead and the rest of the team.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
