New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't had a wonderful start to his 2024 season -- he currently ranks as just the QB18. However, better days could be on the horizon. He's still getting back into gear after missing nearly all of 2023 with an Achilles tendon rupture.
He's been adjusting to a new offensive line, receiver corps, and running back room, and those things take time. He also likely is still building strength and endurance in the affected leg -- it can take longer than a year to get back to 100%, and that's not even possible for some players.
So is Aaron Rodgers a good fantasy pickup for Week 7?

What Did Aaron Rodgers Do In Week 6?
The former Green Bay Packer had his second-best fantasy point total of the season, scoring 15.8 fantasy points in the loss to the Buffalo Bills. He completed 23-of-35 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. His highlight of the night was yet another Hail Mary completion to wide receiver Allen Lazard for a TD.

He had a rather pedestrian day otherwise, but that's not entirely surprising. The Bills have boasted one of the best passing defenses in the league -- they've allowed the eighth-fewest PPR fantasy points to wide receivers per game this season, though that total was much lower before they played Rodgers.
He had a pretty solid day, all things considered. That said, something big happened that should give fantasy managers and Jets fans a big reason to be more optimistic moving forward.
Is Aaron Rodgers A Good Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickup In Week 7?
What happened after Week 6 is equally, if not more important, than what happened during the game. The Jets traded for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who had expressed his desire to leave his old team. Rodgers will now reunite with his old teammate.

This is a huge boost to his fantasy value. It should help raise his floor significantly. Adams will immediately become the best route runner on the team and likely the future Hall Of Famer's favorite target. He should help sustain drives and draw coverage away from the other receivers. He'll be a great one-two punch with Garrett Wilson.

Adams will immediately start and should have a prominent role in the offense. He has a long history with Rodgers -- the two played eight seasons together with the Packers. Adams had six straight seasons of 200 or more PPR fantasy points. They're a match made in heaven, and couldn't be happier to be back together.
Rodgers is a great waiver-wire pickup for teams in need of a decent quarterback or a solid backup option in case of injury. He's rostered in 46% of Sleeper leagues.
