Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is widely viewed as the top player in the NFL and a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
While the superstar has been outstanding for fantasy football players in his career, the former Texas Tech star has struggled the past two years.
Unfortunately, is it time for fantasy players to drop Mahomes, or should they expect better days ahead for the superstar quarterback?

Should I Drop Patrick Mahomes?
Mahomes is the QB24 this season, averaging 14.1 fantasy points per game. He has scored fewer than 14.7 fantasy points in all but one game, totaling 16.4 fantasy points in the Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
The superstar’s receiving core has gotten obliterated by injuries. Marquise Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason and won’t play this year. More importantly, Rashee Rice suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 4, leaving Mahomes with JuJu Smith-Schuster as his most reliable wide receiver.
Surprisingly, the veteran quarterback has struggled to protect the ball, throwing at least one interception in every game this year. Furthermore, he has the second-most interceptions in the NFL since the start of last season.

Fantasy players in single-quarterback leagues can drop Mahomes. The superstar has had one or fewer passing touchdowns in 60% of the games this year.
Who Can I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
Last week, Drake Maye shocked the fantasy football world. The former UNC star completed 60.6% of his pass attempts for 243 yards and three touchdowns, totaling 19.5 fantasy points in his first career start. Furthermore, the rookie made plays with his legs, totaling 38 rushing yards against the Houston Texans.

Maye is rostered in only 6% of Yahoo leagues. He is the perfect streaming option in Week 7, thanks to his matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have surrendered 24 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, the most in the NFL. Furthermore, the Jaguars have given up 3.3 passing touchdowns per game to quarterbacks over the past month, surrendering two or more in every contest.
