Veteran winger Tanner Pearson has inked a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Vegas Golden Knights. The 32-year-old earned the deal after impressing in preseason while on a professional tryout contract. Pearson has produced two goals and three points in four preseason outings with the Golden Knights. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the same level of productivity from Pearson during the regular season. However, it's nice to see the veteran getting another opportunity in the league after running into serious health issues a couple of years back. Montreal Canadiens left wing Tanner Pearson will be on the move as a free agent this summer. According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Canadiens have decided against extending Pearson, who spent one season in Montreal. The 31-year-old was acquired from Vancouver ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. Pearson recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 54 regular-season outings. Things didn't go well for Pearson in Montreal, but he should draw plenty of interest on the open market as a player who averaged 0.50 points per game just a couple of seasons ago. He suffered an upper-body injury early into Saturday's clash with the Sabres and has to sit out his first game of the year. Pearson has contributed four goals and four assists in 27 appearances during his debut campaign in Montreal. He had a power-play goal and registered an assist, both in the third period, to help the team to a 3-1 win. Pearson now has points in four consecutive games, scoring three goals during the run and handing out two assists.
