We have our largest slate of the year for the main slate with 14 games. A guy could get used to this! Missouri in College Station highlights the early batch. We also have Boston College in Hooville (Charlottesville, VA), SMU in Louisville, Pitt in Chapel Hill, Wake heads to Raleigh, Purdue in Madison, and UCLA with a brutal early kick in Happy Valley.
The next batch brings us the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry from Athens, Ole Miss in Columbia, The Hokies in Palo Alto, and Iowa in the 'Shoe. We have a few 4 p.m. games on the docket with West Virginia in Stillwater and Rutgers in Lincoln. We end 15 minutes later in Nashville with Alabama in town.
In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/5/24, locking at noon EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks
Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh ($9K)
Holstein's numbers have improved every game. Even though the last game was a domination of Youngstown State, we could still see numbers close to that against Carolina's defense. Of course, we could see the run game back with a renewed fervor thanks to Rodney Hammond Jr.'s return. Whatever the case, Holstein will remain a big part of the offense. He might have the best floor at the position.
Eli Holstein is the ACC Rookie of The Week for the 4th STRAIGHT week ?

Alan Bowman, Oklahoma State ($7.6K)
The interceptions are a problem. Bowman has thrown four interceptions in the last two games against conference foes. Here's the thing...West Virginia has only intercepted one pass the entire season! If you take away that pesky problem, Bowman is a consistent 300+-yard passer. You're not going to do better in this price range.
Tyler Shough, Louisville ($7K)
SMU is 4-1, but TCU threw for 415 yards on them. My concern is interceptions. SMU has picked off nine passes in five games. Shough has only thrown one pick this season though, so he has shown that he takes care of the ball. Louisville's run game isn't as strong as they had hoped, but Shough is a veteran quarterback who continues to put up solid numbers. He won't win you the slate, but he won't lose it either.
Braedyn Locke, Wisconsin ($5.4K)
There are a few lower-priced quarterbacks that could be nice Superflex options today. Locke is one of them. He is an identical 13-of-26 passing in each of his first two games, but those were against USC and Alabama. The big takeaway is that he only turned it over once. We can live with that.
Chez Mellusi leaving the team could lead Wisconsin to lean on the passing game a little more. Regardless of what the Badgers decide to do, the Purdue defense hasn't played well all season. Locke should have the best game of his young career.
Also consider: Jalen Milroe, Alabama ($10.4K); Thomas Castellanos, Boston College ($8.4K); Payton Thorne, Auburn ($7.1K); Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt ($6.8K); Hank Bachmeier, Wake Forest ($6K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs
Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State ($9K)
Look, I know that Ollie has struggled this year. I get it. Who can forget what he did to this Mountaineers team last year? Just in case you did...
I remember watching Ollie Gordon running at Trinity Euless just completely befuddled why this guy didn't have big-time offers at the time.
Today against West Virginia:
• 29 carries
• 282 yards
• 4 TDsThat'll do. That'll do.pic.twitter.com/qkCPlKP1Iw
— Shehan Jeyarajah (@ShehanJeyarajah) October 21, 2023
Gordon also ran for 136 (his first career 100-yard game) as a freshman against West Virginia in the last game of 2022. He owns the Mountaineers. I'll overlook the slow start because he has mounted them twice.
Kaleb Johnson, Iowa ($8.6K)
Ohio State's run defense is really good, but explosive plays are going to be scarce on both sides of this game. Johnson ran for over 200 yards on a Minnesota team that has only allowed 378 rushing yards combined in the other four games. It's going to be slow going for Johnson and the price is a little off-putting, but it will separate your lineup from others in GPPs.
Tawee Walker, Wisconsin ($5.1K)
With Chez Mellusi leaving the team, the Oklahoma transfer should get the bulk of the carries for the Badgers. Purdue's run defense was solid against Nebraska last week, but this Wisconsin line can dominate the trenches. They are going to open up big holes for Walker and Cade Yacamelli.
Devin Mockobee, Purdue ($4K)
Purdue's offense has been so bad this year that they got Graham Harrell fired after a month. Jason Simmons will take over with a presumed recommitment to the run game. That makes Mockobee and Reggie Love III hot commodities.
We don't know what the usage for each will be, but the carries have been split evenly so far. That may continue with Love the speed guy and Mockobee part tank. Both are solid options on the cheap.
Also consider: Omarion Hampton, North Carolina ($8.7K); Nicholas Singleton, Penn State ($7.4K); Nate Noel, Missouri ($6K); Raheim Sanders, South Carolina ($5K); Rodney Hammond Jr., Pittsburgh ($3K)
DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers
Tre Harris, Mississippi ($8.9K)
Tre Harris for Ole Miss has had hilarious production through five games this year. pic.twitter.com/YcWRz7RgJ7
— Andrew Harbaugh (@AndrewHarbaugh_) October 4, 2024
You would be hard-pressed to put up numbers like that in NCAA Football 25. No one has the ceiling of Harris and his floor is by far the highest of any top-tier player.
Ryan Williams, Alabama ($7.3K)
Good luck putting this toothpaste back in the tube. The 17-year-old is already an Alabama legend. What will he do for an encore? It should be enough until Alabama pulls their starters.
Ja'Corey Brooks, Louisville (6.3K)
Brooks has led the Cardinals in receiving in every game this season. In a game where Louisville might have to throw to keep up, the Shough-to-Brooks combo is very affordable as a mini-stack.
Taylor Morin, Wake Forest ($4.9K)
The arrival of Hank Bachmeier was supposed to help Morin's production. In short...it hasn't. Morin only has one 100-yard game and hasn't caught a touchdown pass all season. I'm not softening much on Bachmeier, but this is a dream matchup for the Wake passing game. If Morin doesn't go off here, he never will in 2024.
Jacory Barney Jr., Nebraska ($3.4K)
The Cornhuskers are looking for ways to get the freshman the ball. He has two rushing touchdowns on the season despite limited carries. Barney still hasn't caught a touchdown, but he has at least two receptions in every game since the opener. He is becoming a larger part of the offense and is worth the risk in GPP formats.
Also consider: Luther Burden III, Missouri ($8.4K); Kevin Concepcion, North Carolina State ($6.7K); De'Zhaun Stribling, Oklahoma State ($6.1K); Tyler Warren, Penn State ($5.6K); Emmett Mosley V, Stanford ($4.7K); Max Klare, Purdue ($3.7K)
DraftKings CFB Stacks
Wake Forest
Wake is cheap and playing a struggling defense. Bachmeier is almost a must-play at his price. Morin and Horatio Fields are my preferred receivers. I even like adding Demond Claiborne for a full offensive stack. All five of those guys are affordable.
Virginia Tech
The Stanford defense has struggled in pass defense and Virginia Tech finally showed promise against Miami. Kyron Drones and Jaylin Lane are the preferred targets, but Da'Quan Felton is also worth adding to this. Bhayshul Tuten is a GPP-only play for me due to Stanford's good run defense.
Also consider: Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Penn State,
