Week 5 Quarterback Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks - Fantasy Football Outlook
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is a solid play at quarterback in Week 5. He is coming off a game in which he threw for 395 yards and a touchdown. A late interception dampened the day, but the output was huge. Smith has thrown for exactly one touchdown in all four games this season. This Seahawks offense feels like it is on the cusp of an explosion which could come in Week 5.
Smith should have a chance to finally break through with a multiple-touchdown game. He should also push for 250 or more passing yards. Smith has been serviceable all year which is evidenced by his current standing as the QB9 in fantasy. If you need a bye-week fill-in for Jalen Hurts or Jared Goff, or you have an underperforming starter such as Patrick Mahomes, then Smith is a fine option to deploy.

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings - Fantasy Football Outlook
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold (knee) has been a top-nine fantasy QB in each of the past three weeks and faces a tough challenge in Week 5 against a stout New York Jets defense. The Jets have allowed the second-fewest passing yards and third-fewest passing touchdowns through four weeks of the season. That is likely due to the quality of quarterbacks New York has played against, as they are coming off games against Will Levis, Jacoby Brissett, and Bo Nix.
Darnold leads the league in passing scores despite being 24th in the NFL in passing attempts in the second half of games so far, and despite appearing on the injury report with his knee, he has been a full participant in practice this week. He could be set for a productive volume game if the Jets remain competitive against an undefeated Minnesota team.

Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns - Fantasy Football Outlook
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has struggled for a good portion of the 2024 season, throwing for just 727 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions through four games. He has a good chance to bounce back, however, in Week 5's road matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Washington's defense has struggled against quarterbacks this season, allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Watson's play has been up and down this year, but he has a shot at posting his best fantasy outing of the season in Week 5, thanks to his opponent. Fantasy gamers can treat him as a high-end QB2 on Sunday.
