Fantasy Football WR Injury Reports: Week 5 Updates For Rashee Rice, Malik Nabers, Christian Watson, more

Rashee Rice - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL wr, Draft Sleepers

Fantasy football WR injury updates and reports for Week 5 (2024), as of 10/2. Includes updates on Rashee Rice, Malik Nabers, Christian Watson, and more.

Status ambiguity for some big-name wide receivers as we arrive at the first bye weeks of the 2024 season. The time off couldn't have come at a better time for Philadelphia, which has been missing its star wideouts with ailments.

To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NFL, make sure to favorite or bookmark the fantasy football player news page. Also, download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Let's look at the updates for some wide receivers and see whether they may play in Week 5.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Davante Adams (LV) Injury Update

A hamstring injury kept Davante Adams out of the lineup in Week 4. A trade request could keep him out of the lineup in Week 5.

Both the Raiders and Adams seem to be on the same page. The veteran wide receiver may have played his last snap in black and silver.

Tank Dell (HOU) Injury Update

Tank Dell missed Week 4 with sore ribs. It's not believed to be a long-term injury and Dell could return to the lineup for a big matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

Dell has been the third option behind Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs in the Houston passing game. If he's available on Sunday, fantasy managers can view him as a boom/bust flex option.

Mike Evans (TB) Injury Update

Mike Evans was a DNP on Monday's estimated practice report with knee and calf issues. He was upgraded to a limited participant on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers play on Thursday night, so Monday and Tuesday injury reports are merely estimates. There's little to worry about regarding Evans' status this week.

Cooper Kupp (LAR) Injury Update

Cooper Kupp is forecasted to miss his third straight game this weekend as he recovers from an ankle sprain. There's no guarantee he will return before four missed games, despite avoiding injured reserve.

With Puka Nacua on injured reserve, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell have become the preferred wide receivers for Matthew Stafford. Kyren Williams has been scoring for the Rams on the ground. He's found the end zone in every game this season.

Jalen McMillan (TB) Injury Update

Jalen McMillan popped up with a hamstring injury in practice leading into Week 4. That forced the rookie to miss the first game of his professional career.

The Buccaneers have a Week 5 matchup on Thursday Night Football against Atlanta. With the short turnaround between games, it's unlikely that McMillan will suit up. He's been a DNP on the team's estimated practice report so far this week.

Malik Nabers (NYG) Injury Update

Malik Nabers suffered a concussion in the waning moments of the team's loss to the Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. Teammate Darius Slayton said he was in good spirits after the game.

The good news is that Nabers has an extra few days to clear the league's concussion protocol. He's a top-12 wide receiver whenever he's healthy. The rookie leads the league in targets, target share, and receptions.

Rashee Rice (KC) Injury Update

Initially believed to be a season-ending torn ACL, a second opinion for Rashee Rice has been rather positive. He's traveling to find out the extent of his knee injury, but there's a glimmer of hope for fantasy managers.

Regardless of what happens, he will not be playing in Week 5. The best case is likely a stint on short-term injured reserve. The worst case is a confirmation of a devastating knee injury that will end his season.

Christian Watson (GB) Injury Update

Christian Watson will likely miss a game or two with what's described as a mild high ankle sprain.

When one wide receiver has been out of the lineup, the others in the Green Bay offense typically blossom. Romeo Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft will see more targets. Dontayvion Wicks will be on the field more often and therefore earn more targets. Jayden Reed is the clear No. 1 and should be started in every league.
