Week 4 Quarterback Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings - Fantasy Football Outlook
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold (knee) has been nothing short of remarkable to open the NFL season. The 27-year-old tweaked his knee on Sunday against the Texans, though he has been removed from the injury report as he will look to build on his league-leading eight touchdowns in Week 4's matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
The former first-round pick sits as a top-five fantasy quarterback through three games despite being drafted outside of the top 25 QBs by ADP before the season, and he likely gets wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) back for this game. Darnold faces an average-to-below-average Packers passing defense that has yet to be tested by a true pocket passer like Darnold.
While he may not be a top-five fantasy option this week, Darnold is a viable starting option in standard leagues and even better in six-point passing touchdown leagues this week.

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions - Fantasy Football Outlook
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff faces a stiff test with the Seattle Seahawks defense on Monday night. The Seahawks come in with the No. 2 overall defense and No. 1 pass defense in the NFL through three weeks.
At the same time, Goff represents the best quarterback the Seahawks will have faced after matching up with Denver's rookie Bo Nix, New England's Jacoby Brissett, and Miami's Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle. Seattle boasts a strong secondary and Goff has yet to break out through three weeks of this season.
Expect a run-heavy focus for the Lions' offense on Monday night with Goff attempting to get the ball to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams whenever possible against Seattle's tough corners in Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen. Goff profiles as a mid-range QB2 in this matchup with better options available.
- Brian Buckey, RotoBaller
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks - Fantasy Football Outlook
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has a chance for a solid fantasy outing on Monday against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are 18th against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy in 2024. Their secondary has struggled to contain opposing wide receivers all season.
The Lions are allowing 216.7 passing yards per game in 2024 and only 76.7 rushing yards per game. They are the definition of a pass funnel. Smith has been solid in 2024. His two interceptions in Week 3 were a result of fluky plays that were not necessarily Smith's fault.
He is starting to round back into his 2022 form after a disappointing 2023 season. This is a great game for Smith to fully hit his stride. There should be plenty of points to go around as two talented offenses clash. If you need a start in Week 4 then you could do a lot worse than Smith.
