BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3/RB4
ANALYSIS: While it may be tempting to start New York Jets running back Braelon Allen, low-volume backup running backs don't tend to be good start decisions early in the season. Lead back Breece Hall still takes a lion's share of the touches, and Allen has relied on very high efficiency to produce what he has so far.

Allen is a good football player. That can't be denied. But unless the Jets running back room shifts to a committee a la Lions, where both RBs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs get enough touches to be fantasy-relevant weekly, Allen is a somewhat risky start.
That being said, the Denver Broncos have a terrible offense. This matters because they're also a middling run defense, so the game script is very likely to favor the run. If the Broncos offense struggles against the Jets defense, which is very likely considering the Jets have one of the better defenses in the league, Allen could get an opportunity.
Given that Denver's opponents have averaged 28.3 rushing attempts per game, good for ninth most in the league, a positive game script for Allen is likely. The Jets seem committed to keeping Hall healthy, as he's not seen over more than 21 touches in a game this season.
Allen is a fine start in deeper leagues if you think the Jets will be able to employ a run-heavy game plan against the Broncos in Week 4. It's risky, though.
