Ryan Lindgren Expected To Miss "A Few Weeks"
2 months agoNew York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) is in danger of missing the start of the regular season after Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette ruled him out for "at least a few weeks." Lindgren hurt himself in a fight with Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield in Tuesday's preseason contest. The Rangers start the 2024-25 campaign in two weeks, meaning Lindgren faces a race against time to be ready for the season opener on Oct. 9 versus the Pittsburgh Penguins. Lindgren was limited to 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 76 outings last season, but he averaged the fourth-most ice time among the Rangers' defensemen and played a big part at the back with 103 blocks and 114 hits.
