Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em - Week 4 Matchups Analysis

C.J. Stroud - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Fantasy football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em and lineup advice for all 2024 Week 4 matchups. Joey Pollizze analyzes in-depth matchups via game-by-game breakdowns.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another start'em and sit'em piece as we look ahead to Week 4! With injuries piling up, making the right lineup decisions could become harder and harder. This Weekmatchups analysis and Start 'Em, Sit 'Em piece will help you make the right choices as we look at the best and worst matchups for each player this week.

In Week 3, stars like James ConnerMike Evans, and J.K. Dobbins were all on the hate list. All three of those players had rough fantasy days and didn't contribute much to your fantasy team. Both Conner and Evans scored under 3.8 PPR fantasy points, while Dobbins finished with a mere 8.4 PPR fantasy points against the Steelers.

So, let's dive into every Week 4 game (Sunday through Monday) and analyze the best starts and sits. This article will go through every player in every game to determine which players you should be starting in fantasy this week.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Matchups Analysis - Sunday 1:00 EDT Games

Denver Broncos at New York Jets

Spread: Jets -7.5
Implied Total: Broncos (15.5) vs. Jets (23)

Matchups We Love:

TE Tyler Conklin

If fantasy managers are looking for a tight end this week, Tyler Conklin could be a great fill-in against the Broncos. Denver just allowed seven catches for 47 yards to Cade Otton, and Conklin is coming off his best game of the season. He caught five passes for 93 yards in Week 3. Since Denver has allowed 10 PPR fantasy points to opposing tight ends this year, the Jets playmaker is a sneaky option in 12-plus team leagues.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Bo Nix

Quarterback Bo Nix looked much better under center last week, which resulted in the best fantasy day of his career. The rookie scored 19.3 fantasy points, thanks to 47 rush yards and one touchdown on the ground. But fantasy managers should stay away from him in Week 4. The Jets have one of the best secondaries in the league, and opposing quarterbacks are averaging only 9.2 fantasy points per game against them in 2024.

RB Javonte Williams

At this point in the season, Javonte Williams is unstartable in most formats. Despite playing over 50% of the offensive snaps in all three games this year, Williams is averaging a mere 2.17 yards per carry. Not only did he lose touches to Jaleel McLaughlin last week, but Tyler Badie also saw a season-high nine carries. So, the Broncos running back should be left on your bench in Week 4 -- even against a Jets run defense that isn't great.

WR Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson hasn't gotten on the same page with Aaron Rodgers just yet, and don't expect that to happen against a solid Broncos secondary in Week 4. Patrick Surtain II will almost certainly shadow Wilson throughout this contest, which isn't great news for the Jets wideout. Surtain has shut down DK MetcalfGeorge Pickens, and Evans in the first three weeks. That makes the young star a risky WR2 this weekend.

WR Courtland Sutton

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton had a strong showing last week, catching seven passes for 68 yards. His 13.8 PPR fantasy points marked the first time he scored in double figures this season. However, fantasy managers shouldn't bank on that happening again in Week 4 against the Jets. Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed have established themselves as one of the top cornerback duos in the league, making Sutton a must-sit this week.

Other Matchups:

QB Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers looked like his former self in last week's win, and he has certainly gotten better each week. The future Hall of Fame quarterback scored a season-high 21 fantasy points in Week 3 behind a 281-yard, two-touchdown performance. So, there is some appeal in starting him in Superflex formats this weekend.

RB Breece Hall

It doesn't matter which defense Breece Hall is going against, you are starting him every week. Hall has seen at least 20 touches in all three games this season while finishing as a top-12 running back in two of three contests. With Denver giving up over 4.4 yards per carry to opposing backs this season, the young running back could be in for a strong fantasy day.

WR Allen Lazard/Mike Williams

As Mike Williams ramps up following his torn ACL, Allen Lazard continues to see opportunities in the passing game. Lazard caught his third touchdown pass last week and is a potential flex play in 12-plus team leagues in Week 4. As for Williams, it was nice to see him reel in three catches in Week 3, and his target share should only increase as the season goes on. But for right now, he is too risky to trust in fantasy.

Injuries:

None

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

Spread: Packers -2.5

Implied Total: Vikings (20.5) vs. Packers (23)

Matchups We Love:

RB Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones will be playing against his former team for the first time in Week 4. So, there is some extra motivation for Jones in this game. On top of that, this is a great matchup for the veteran running back. The Packers are allowing five yards per carry to opposing running backs so far this season while giving up the fifth-most receiving yards (143) to the position. Given how Jones has looked this season, he is a must-start.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Jordan Love

All signs point to Jordan Love (knee) returning in Week 4 after missing the last two games with an MCL sprain. However, this is a matchup fantasy managers should be avoiding this week. The Vikings defense is legit, and it is allowing only 10.6 fantasy points to the opposing quarterback this season. Last week, they held C.J. Stroud to under 12 fantasy points. So, even if Love suits up, he might be hard to trust in his first game back.

Update: Love is questionable for Sunday.

RB Josh Jacobs

There should be some concern about all Packers players against this tough Vikings defense, including Josh Jacobs. While Jacobs is averaging over 4.4 yards per carry, this matchup isn't ideal for him. Minnesota has allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to the position, and opposing backs are only averaging 3.7 yards per carry against this front seven. You are probably still starting him, but expectations should be tempered.

Other Matchups:

QB Sam Darnold

No one predicted Sam Darnold to look this good to start the season. The Vikings quarterback has been one of the biggest fantasy surprises through the first three weeks and will enter Week 4 as the QB4 in all formats. As a result, he is a sneaky QB1 option against the Packers this weekend. Green Bay has done a nice job against opposing quarterbacks so far this year, but it has yet to play a Kevin O'Connell-led offense.

WR Justin Jefferson

With Darnold playing well to start the year, that has certainly helped Justin Jefferson be a strong WR1 option. Jefferson has totaled over 20 PPR fantasy points in back-to-back games and now gets a Packers secondary that allowed solid games to A.J. Brown (22.9 points), Alec Pierce (16.6 points), and DeAndre Hopkins (19.3 points). Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried about Jaire Alexander in this game, either.

Packers WRs

With Love likely returning, all Packer pass-catchers get a huge boost. The wideout with the biggest boost will be Jayden Reed. Reed scored over 33 PPR fantasy points with the young quarterback in Week 1. As a result, he should be started in most leagues in Week 4 with Love likely returning. As for Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, they are riskier options against this Minnesota secondary and are only flex plays in 14-plus team leagues.

WR Jordan Addison

The expectation is that wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) will return this week following a two-game absence. In Week 1, Addison caught three passes for 35 yards before leaving that contest early. With the way Darnold has looked in the first three games, there is some season-long potential for him in fantasy. However, he might be limited in his first game back. So, he is likely more of a WR4 in fantasy in Week 4.

Update: Addison will play on Sunday.

Injuries:

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

Spread: Falcons -1.5

Implied Total: Saints (20.5) vs. Falcons (22)

Matchups We Love:

TE Kyle Pitts

Fantasy managers don't have much faith in Kyle Pitts anymore. After being a disappointing tight end over the past couple of years, things haven't gotten much better for him in 2024 -- even with a quarterback like Kirk Cousins. Pitts has just eight catches through three games. However, it's hard to ignore what Dallas Goedert (170 yards) did against New Orleans' defense last week. So, it's best to roll with him again this week.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Kirk Cousins

The Saints defense has been one of the more underrated units this year, especially against the pass. It is allowing only 11.3 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks through three weeks while giving up just one passing touchdown. So, Cousins will enter Week 4 as a risky QB2 in Superflex formats.

Other Matchups:

QB Derek Carr

After a rough Week 3 performance, quarterback Derek Carr will look to bounce back against the Falcons this week. Atlanta ranks in the top half of the league -- in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks (17.4 fantasy points) this year -- but has given up only 556 passing yards and two touchdowns through three weeks. Therefore, Carr is more of a QB2 option in Week 4.

RB Alvin Kamara

Running back Alvin Kamara popped up on the injury report this week with a hip/rib injury. However, assuming he is good to go for Week 4, he should be started in all formats. The Saints running back saw 29 touches in Week 3, which helped him finish as the RB15 in PPR formats. Despite the Falcons allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs, Kamara is still a must-start.

Update: Alvin Kamara was questionable for Week 4 but will be ACTIVE per Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill.

RB Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson is another player fantasy managers should always start. He has seen at least 18 touches in all three games this season while catching more than three passes in two of three contests. The good news for Robinson heading into Week 4 is that he now goes up against a Saints run defense that just allowed 147 rush yards and two touchdowns to Saquon Barkley last week.

Saints WRs

Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have been viable plays this season, thanks to the addition of offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. While Olave has only seen 14 targets this year, he will continue to be a strong WR2 option. The possible A.J. Terrell shadow this week shouldn't worry many fantasy managers, as both Pickens and DeVonta Smith had solid games against Atlanta's secondary. So, make sure to get the wideout in your lineups.

As for Shaheed, he will always be that boom-or-bust fantasy player. After totaling over 16 PPR fantasy points in the first two weeks, he scored a whopping zero fantasy points last week. So, he's a risky option against the Falcons in Week 4.

Update: Olave suffered a hamstring injury in Friday's practice. Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill is reporting that Olave will be ACTIVE vs. Falcons.

Falcons WRs

Both Drake London and Darnell Mooney have totaled double-digit fantasy points in back-to-back games, and both are certainly trending up in fantasy heading into Week 4. London has caught six passes and one touchdown in consecutive games, while Mooney has led the team in targets in each of the past two games. However, London might see Marshon Lattimore in coverage for a part of the game, which isn't great for his fantasy value.

Lattimore currently ranks first in target separation (0.6), while London ranks 64th (1.37) in that same category. The good news for the Falcons wideout, though, is that the Saints cornerback lines up 93% of the time on the right side. London has only seen 35% of the snaps on the right side this year, so he is still a solid WR2 option this week. As for Mooney, he could be a solid flex play after back-to-back strong fantasy performances.

Injuries:

  • Alvin Kamara (rib/hip)
  • Chris Olave (hamstring)

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Spread: Eagles -2.5

Implied Total: Eagles (23.5) vs. Buccaneers (21)

Matchups We Love:

QB Jalen Hurts

The Buccaneers secondary couldn't contain Bo Nix last week through the air or on the ground, as the rookie totaled over 260 yards (47 rush yards and 213 pass yards). With safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot) working back from a foot injury, quarterback Jalen Hurts should have his way against this defense. Tampa Bay has also allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks to start the season.

RB Saquon Barkley

After totaling over 150 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns last week, Barkley is in another prime position to have a big game in Week 4 against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs so far this year while giving up over 4.5 yards per carry to the position. So, Barkley could have another strong fantasy day this weekend.

WR Mike Evans

Evans has busted in back-to-back weeks, failing to score in double figures in both contests. But make sure to get him in your lineup this week against an Eagles secondary that has allowed over 40 fantasy points to opposing wideouts this year. That is the sixth most through the first three weeks.

WR Chris Godwin

With Chris Godwin playing 48% of his snaps in the slot this season, he has taken his fantasy value to a new level. He currently ranks as the WR3 in PPR formats and leads the team with 25 targets -- 10 more than Evans (15). As a result, you aren't sitting Godwin this week in a great matchup against the Eagles. In Week 1, Reed scored over 30 PPR fantasy points against Philadelphia while working primarily in the slot in that game.

Matchups We Hate:

None

Other Matchups:

QB Baker Mayfield

Quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled to do much last week against the Broncos and scored less than 10 fantasy points for the first time this year. While the Eagles have allowed only 13.9 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this year, they allowed the third-most fantasy points to the position in 2023. So, look for Mayfield to have a better game than last week. He'll be a high-end QB2 this week.

RB Rachaad White

White fantasy managers are in a tough predicament heading into Week 4. Bucky Irving continues to see more opportunities out of the backfield, and White is averaging a mere 2.1 yards per carry through three weeks. The only reason he isn't on the hate list is because the Eagles are giving up over 5.2 yards per carry to opposing backs this year. So, he'll be a low-end RB2 this week, given his usage in the passing game.

Eagles WRs

It remains to be seen if Brown (hamstring) or Smith (concussion) will suit up this week. Both are not practicing as of Thursday and with a bye next week, Philadelphia could decide to sit both against the Buccaneers. If either/both play in Week 4, they are must-starts. If both were to miss, though, Jahan Dotson would be an interesting play this week as Hurts' top target.

Update: Smith has been ruled out, but Brown is questionable for Week 4.

TE Dallas Goedert

Given that Goedert totaled 10 catches for 170 yards last week against the Saints, it's almost impossible to sit him in fantasy after a performance like that. With the injuries to Brown and Smith as well, the Eagles tight end should be started in almost all formats this weekend. Last year, the Buccaneers allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Make sure to get him into your lineups in Week 4.

Injuries:

  • A.J. Brown (hamstring)
  • DeVonta Smith (concussion)
  • Bucky Irving (hamstring)

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers

Spread: Bengals -4.5

Implied Total: Bengals (26.5) vs. Panthers (22)

Matchups We Love:

QB Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow has looked better and better every week, and that has been reflected in his fantasy numbers. He has finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in back-to-back weeks, including a QB7 finish against the Commanders in Week 3. With a matchup against the Panthers in Week 4 -- a team that has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season -- Burrow is a strong QB1 option.

RB Zack Moss

Zack Moss is the Bengals' clear RB1 as we enter Week 4. He has played over 75% of the team's offensive snaps in back-to-back games while totaling 24 carries during those contests. Now, he goes up against a Panthers front seven that has struggled to stop opposing running backs this season. Carolina has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to the position through three weeks. So, Moss is a strong RB2 option this weekend.

TE Mike Gesicki

Snap share remains a problem for Mike Gesicki, considering he hasn't played more than 50% of the team's offensive snaps in any game. But he continues to see consistent production in Cincinnati's offense. He has caught at least four passes in consecutive games while finishing as a top-12 fantasy tight end in both contests. Given that Carolina is giving up over 15.2 fantasy points per game to the position, Gesicki is a low-end TE1.

WR Diontae Johnson

After finishing as the WR6 in PPR formats and seeing 14 targets from Andy Dalton last week, there is no way fantasy managers can sit Diontae Johnson in Week 4. Johnson had a 36% target share and should continue to be Dalton's first look on offense. While the Bengals are allowing only 26.1 fantasy points to opposing wideouts, we saw what Terry McLaurin and Rashee Rice have done against that secondary in recent weeks.

Update: Diontae Johnson is questionable with a groin injury for Sunday.

Matchups We Hate:

None

Other Matchups:

QB Andy Dalton

In his only two starts for the Panthers, Dalton has scored over 23 fantasy points in both games. Last week, the 36-year-old threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns -- making him one of only two quarterbacks to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in a game this season. Now, he gets a Bengals defense that allowed over 250 yards and two touchdowns to Jayden Daniels last week. That makes the veteran a sneaky QB2 option.

RB Chuba Hubbard

With Dalton under center, Chuba Hubbard should have better fantasy days for as long as Jonathon Brooks (knee) is out. We saw that last week, as Hubbard scored 27.9 PPR fantasy points and finished as the RB4. But the matchup against the Bengals isn't nearly as great as last week's against the Raiders. Cincinnati is allowing 4.1 yards per carry through three weeks, so the Panthers running back is a low-end RB2.

WR Ja'Marr Chase

Fantasy managers have been waiting for Ja'Marr Chase to finally have a big game. Last week, he totaled six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns en route to a WR2 finish in PPR formats. Chase will continue to be a must-start option in fantasy and has a nice matchup against a Panthers secondary that has allowed five touchdowns to wideouts so far through three weeks.

WR Tee Higgins

Despite coming off a hamstring injury, wide receiver Tee Higgins played 90% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 3. Higgins, though, only caught three passes for 39 yards in that contest. It was a bit of a disappointment for the 25-year-old last week, considering Burrow threw for over 300 yards. But with another week to get up to game speed, expect better numbers for him in Week 4. He's a WR3 in fantasy this weekend.

Injuries:

  • Diontae Johnson (groin)

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans

Spread: Texans -7

Implied Total: Jaguars (19.25) vs. Texans (26.25)

Matchups We Love:

QB C.J. Stroud

It has been a disappointing start to the fantasy season for Stroud. He has yet to score more than 19 fantasy points in a game, but this is the week the second-year quarterback finally breaks that streak. The Jaguars have given up the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, and Josh Allen just threw four touchdowns in the first half against them last week. That makes him a strong QB1 start this week.

Texans RBs

It remains to be seen if Joe Mixon (ankle) or Dameon Pierce (hamstring) will be able to suit up against the Jaguars. Both players missed last week's contest. So, it could be another Cam Akers game in Week 4. Whichever running back does get the start, though, is a must-start. Jacksonville has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points and second-most receiving yards (182) to opposing backs this year.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Joe Mixon will be OUT vs. Jaguars.

Texans WRs

Essentially, if you have any Texans players on your roster, you should be starting them in Week 4. Jacksonville's defense has been one of the worst in the league, and it has allowed the sixth-most receiving yards (537) to wideouts in 2024. So, both Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs are strong starts this weekend, especially with Tank Dell (ribs) unlikely to play.

Update: Dell is officially out for Sunday.

Matchups We Hate:

RB Travis Etienne

Fantasy managers likely expected more from Travis Etienne through the first three weeks. He has yet to finish as a top-20 fantasy running back this season and has failed to score more than 15 points in any game. Now, he gets a Houston defense that is allowing only 3.2 yards per carry to opposing backs in the early going. While it's hard to sit Etienne, he could struggle on the ground in Week 4.

Other Matchups:

QB Trevor Lawrence

After getting paid this offseason, quarterback Trevor Lawrence has struggled through the air. He is only completing 53% of his passes for 560 yards and two touchdowns through three weeks. While the Texans just allowed 34 points and four passing touchdowns to Darnold in Week 3, Lawrence doesn't have much going for him in fantasy heading into Week 4. So, he's too risky to trust in all formats.

WR Brian Thomas Jr.

Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has been one of the few bright spots in Jacksonville's offense to start the season. The rookie has scored more than 9.5 PPR fantasy points in all three contests this season and is coming off a nine-target game in Week 3. As a result, Thomas has some flex appeal in Week 4. His potential matchup in this game (Derek Stingley Jr.) has allowed at least 50 yards in all three games this season.

WR Christian Kirk

Christian Kirk finally had a nice showing in Week 3 after busting in both of the first two weeks. Last week, Kirk caught eight passes for 79 yards and finished as the WR23 in PPR formats. Hopefully, this is a sign of what's to come for the Jaguars wideout. With him seeing 77% of slot snaps and Houston allowing 13.4 PPR fantasy points to slot wideouts this season, the 27-year-old could be a solid flex play in 12-plus team leagues.

TE Dalton Schultz

The Jaguars have surprisingly been one of the better teams at stopping tight ends this year. But part of that is because of who they have played. In Week 1, they faced the Dolphins -- who don't use their tight ends a whole lot -- and in Week 2, they faced the Browns without David Njoku. Still, given all the weapons in Houston's offense, Dalton Schultz is a TE2 this week.

Injuries:

  • Evan Engram (hamstring)
  • Tank Dell (ribs)
  • Joe Mixon (ankle)

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts

Spread: Steelers -1.5

Implied Total: Steelers (20.5) vs. Colts (19)

Matchups We Love:

RB Najee Harris

Najee Harris continues to be highly involved in the Steelers run game through three weeks. Harris has totaled at least 17 carries in every game this season, and his 55 carries on the year currently rank sixth in the NFL. Now, he gets a Colts run defense that has allowed the most rush yards (409) to running backs this year. With Jaylen Warren (knee) also out for Week 4, Harris is a strong RB2 option this week.

WR George Pickens

The Colts have struggled in the secondary to start the season, and that is great news for Pickens in Week 4. Indianapolis has given up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts through the first three weeks. Both Collins and Rome Odunze also totaled over 110 receiving yards against them, so Pickens should be in for a nice fantasy day. Make sure to get him into your lineups.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Anthony Richardson

Given how Anthony Richardson has looked over the past two weeks, he is no longer a must-start in fantasy. He just finished as the QB31 last week and now faces a vicious Steelers defense in Week 4. Pittsburgh has allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. As a result, it's best to stay away from Richardson in fantasy this weekend.

RB Jonathan Taylor

If you have Jonathan Taylor, you likely aren't sitting him, especially after a two-touchdown performance. However, the matchup against the Steelers isn't the best for him. Pittsburgh is allowing only 3.4 yards per carry to opposing running backs in the first three weeks and the second-fewest fantasy points per game (14.5). Fantasy managers should still start Taylor this week, but expectations should be tempered.

WR Michael Pittman Jr.

Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is a must-sit in fantasy until he can prove to be a consistent fantasy option. If some fantasy managers were thinking about starting him this week -- despite the poor first three weeks -- it's best not to. He has just 11 catches all season and will likely go up against cornerback Joey Porter Jr. in Week 4. Porter has allowed only three catches through three weeks.

Other Matchups:

QB Justin Fields

It would be shocking to see Russell Wilson (calf) overtake Justin Fields for the starting quarterback job. Last week was Fields' best start under center, as he threw for 245 yards and one touchdown. While he rushed for only six yards, his 19.4 fantasy points helped him finish as the QB12. Given his rushing upside, he will be a low-end QB1 in Week 4 against a Colts defense that has allowed the 10th-most passing yards.

WR Josh Downs/Alec Pierce

With Josh Downs back in the fold on offense, Pierce wasn't involved much on offense. Pierce saw just two targets and finished as the WR70 on the week. As for Downs, he totaled three catches for 22 yards in his first game of the season. But against this Steelers defense and with Richardson at quarterback, it's too risky to trust either Colts wideout in fantasy this week.

TE Pat Freiermuth

If you're looking for a tight end who will get you somewhere between six and eight PPR fantasy points every week, Pat Freiermuth is a nice target. Freiermuth has caught four passes in every game so far while scoring between 6.7 PPR fantasy points and 7.9 PPR fantasy points in every game. So, he could be a solid start this week, especially against an Indianapolis defense allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to the position in 2024.

Injuries:

  • Jaylen Warren (knee)

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears

Spread: Bears -2.5

Implied Total: Rams (19) vs. Bears (21.5)

Matchups We Love:

QB Caleb Williams

There's no doubt that quarterback Caleb Williams has looked like a rookie in his first three games. But after throwing for 363 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Colts, things could be trending up for Williams heading into Week 4. He now gets a Rams defense that has allowed the third-most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season. So, the rookie is a high-end QB2 this weekend.

WR DJ Moore

It has been a slow start for DJ Moore. He hasn't finished as a top-30 wide receiver yet this season or crossed the 80-yard threshold in any game. However, that could change against a Rams secondary that is allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts. With Moore likely lined up opposite cornerback Tre'Davious White -- who has struggled through three weeks -- the Bears wideout is a strong start this weekend.

TE Cole Kmet

It took the Bears a couple of weeks to finally realize that Cole Kmet is a better tight end than Gerald Everett. In Week 3, he played a season-high 81% of the offensive snaps and totaled 10 catches for 97 yards and one touchdown against the Colts. Given that the Rams have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this year, Kmet is a sneaky low-end TE1 this weekend.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford might have led the Rams to a victory last week, but he was not a solid fantasy option in Week 3. Stafford only scored 12.8 fantasy points and finished as the QB22 on the week. With Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) still out, it's too hard to trust the veteran in Superflex formats this week against a Bears defense allowing only 554 passing yards through three weeks.

Bears RBs

This Bears backfield is starting to become a mess in fantasy, and it's probably best to avoid it moving forward. D'Andre Swift was expected to lead this group in 2024, but he's averaging a mere 1.84 yards per carry through three weeks. So, Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert will likely get more opportunities on the ground. Avoid all three backs in Week 4 until we see how this plays out in the coming weeks.

Rams WRs

With Kupp and Nacua out, Tutu Atwell led all Rams wide receivers last week in targets (five), catches (four), and receiving yards (93). So, there is some flex appeal for him in deeper formats this week, especially since he would avoid Jaylon Johnson in the slot. As for Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson, they aren't worthy plays in Week 4 after disappointing showings last weekend.

Other Matchups:

RB Kyren Williams

Kyren Williams should be started every week moving forward, as he is the team's RB1. Last week, Williams totaled 26 touches for 116 yards and three touchdowns. With both Kupp and Nacua out, look for the Rams to continue to lean on the young running back in both the running and passing game.

WRs Rome Odunze/Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen (heel) has missed the last two weeks with a heel issue, but there's a good chance he will be back for Sunday's game against the Rams. If that's the case, it might be too tough to rely on him in fantasy in his first game back. He could be limited with that heel issue, and Odunze should continue to be involved on offense.

The matchup against Los Angeles' secondary is great for all Chicago wideouts, but both Allen and Odunze will come in as WR3s this weekend. There just aren't enough targets to go around for all three Bears playmakers.

Update: Allen is questionable for Sunday, but the Bears anticipate him playing.

Injuries:

  • Puka Nacua (knee)
  • Cooper Kupp (ankle)
  • Keenan Allen (heel)

Matchup Analysis - Sunday Afternoon Games

Washington Commanders at Arizona Cardinals

Spread: Cardinals -3.5

Implied Total: Commanders (23.5) vs. Cardinals (27)

Matchups We Love:

QB Kyler Murray

The Commanders secondary has been the worst in the NFL through three weeks. They have allowed the most passing touchdowns (nine), and the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks (24.4). As a result, Kyler Murray is a must-start quarterback in fantasy this week. Given his rushing upside and how poor Washington's secondary has looked this year, Murray could finish as the overall QB1 in Week 4.

QB Jayden Daniels

Daniels has been a strong quarterback option for fantasy managers in the early going, as he currently ranks as the QB2 in PPR formats. Now, he goes up against a Cardinals defense that has some holes in the secondary. Given that Arizona has given up the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season, it'll be hard to sit the rookie in Week 4.

RB James Conner

Following a poor rushing day for Conner in Week 3, expect the veteran to bounce back this week against the Commanders. Washington is allowing 5.1 yards per carry in the early going while also allowing the sixth-most receptions to running backs through three weeks. After looking at what Moss did in fantasy last week against them -- scoring 20.7 PPR fantasy points -- Conner is a strong RB1 option this weekend.

WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

If we have learned anything through the first three weeks, it's that we should start every wide receiver against the Commanders. Evans (23.1 PPR points), Godwin (22.3 PPR points), Malik Nabers (28.7 PPR points), and Chase (29.8 PPR points) have all had strong fantasy days. Expect Marvin Harrison Jr. to join that list in Week 4.

WR Greg Dortch

Another wide receiver who has sneaky fantasy value in this game is Greg Dortch. Despite catching only five combined passes over the past two weeks, Washington has allowed the second-most fantasy points to slot wide receivers in 2024 -- the place where Dortch plays most of his snaps. So, if you need a potential flex option in 12-plus team leagues, he could be a solid choice.

Matchups We Hate:

None

Other Matchups:

RB Brian Robinson Jr.

With Austin Ekeler (concussion) leaving last week's contest early, Brian Robinson Jr. played a season-high 76% of the snaps. Another high snap share should be in store for Robinson in Week 4, as the Commanders already ruled out Ekeler for this week. So, a big day could be in store for him against an Arizona defense that is giving up over 24 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. He's a strong RB2 option on Sunday.

WR Terry McLaurin

McLaurin had his best game of the year last week, catching four passes for 100 yards and one touchdown. His 20 PPR fantasy points helped him finish as the WR14 on the week. However, fantasy managers shouldn't fully be trusting McLaurin just yet. He only caught four passes last week. It's likely going to be an up-and-down year for the wideout, given a rookie quarterback is throwing to him. So, he's more of a WR3 this week.

TE Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz has established himself as a nice target for Daniels in the middle of the field. Ertz has caught at least four passes in back-to-back games and has finished as a top-10 fantasy tight end in both of those weeks. Therefore, if you are looking for a high-floor tight end in Week 4, the 33-year-old veteran could be a nice target.

Cardinals TEs

It would be a shock if Trey McBride (concussion) could play in Week 4. McBride left last week's game early and hasn't practiced as of Thursday. So, expect Elijah Higgins to take over the TE1 job in Arizona this weekend. Higgins is an interesting play this week because of his background as a college wide receiver at Stanford. That makes him a potential option in 14-plus team leagues against a poor Washington secondary.

Update: Trey McBride is ruled out for Sunday.

Injuries:

  • Trey McBride (concussion)
  • Austin Ekeler (concussion)

New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers

Spread: 49ers -10

Implied Total: Patriots (15) vs. 49ers (25)

Matchups We Love:

QB Brock Purdy

Quarterback Brock Purdy looked great last week without several of his top playmakers (Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel Sr.), throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns. That helped him finish as the QB5 on the week behind 25.7 fantasy points. Now, Purdy gets a Patriots defense in Week 4 that has allowed the sixth-most passing yards (772) to quarterbacks this season. So, he's a nice QB1 option this week.

WR Jauan Jennings

It's hard to sit Jauan Jennings after his three-touchdown performance last week against the Rams. While fantasy managers shouldn't expect another three touchdowns in Week 4, there is a path where Jennings could finish as a WR2 or better this weekend. With Samuel possibly out, the 27-year-old is a solid WR2 option against a Patriots secondary that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts this year.

Update: Samuel plans to play in Week 4 and will come in as a low-end WR2 in his first game back. As for Jennings, he should not be started in most cases with Kittle and Samuel both likely playing on Sunday.

Matchups We Hate:

WR Brandon Aiyuk

In what was supposed to be a great matchup last week, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk only scored 9.8 PPR fantasy points. The good news for him is that Samuel will likely miss this week's game against the Patriots. The bad news, though, is that Aiyuk will be matched up against cornerback Christian Gonzalez. Gonzalez just held Wilson to 33 receiving yards last week, so the 49ers wideout is a risky WR2 in Week 4.

TE Hunter Henry

Some fantasy managers might be looking to start Hunter Henry this week after he caught eight passes for 109 yards just two weeks ago. But it's probably best to sit him this week against the 49ers. San Francisco has allowed only six catches to opposing tight ends this year while giving up the fewest fantasy points to the position through three weeks. That makes Henry a must-sit in almost all formats in Week 4.

Other Matchups:

RB Jordan Mason

Jordan Mason will continue leading the 49ers backfield until McCaffrey returns. The 25-year-old has totaled at least 19 carries in all three games this season while averaging 16.8 PPR fantasy points. While the Patriots have been an above-average run defense in the early going -- only allowing 3.7 yards per carry to running backs -- you shouldn't be sitting the young back this week, especially since the 49ers are double-digit-point favorites.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson

I almost put Rhamondre Stevenson in the matchups we hate section because this is a game that could get out of hand. In last week's 21-point loss to the Jets, Stevenson saw just six carries and only played 46% of the offensive snaps. Well, with the Patriots entering this contest as 10-point underdogs, the 26-year-old could see fewer opportunities on Sunday. As a result, he is a low-end RB2 in fantasy this weekend.

TE George Kittle

Kittle didn't play last week after injuring his hamstring in practice. But after practicing in a limited fashion to start the week, the Pro Bowl tight end could return on Sunday against the Patriots. Given the position landscape this year, you are starting the 49ers playmaker in all formats -- assuming he suits up.

Update: Kittle will play on Sunday.

Injuries:

  • Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf)
  • Christian McCaffrey (Achilles)
  • George Kittle (hamstring)

Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders

Spread: Raiders -1.5

Implied Total: Browns (18) vs. Raiders (19.5)

Matchups We Love:

RB Jerome Ford

It hasn't been the best start to the fantasy season for Jerome Ford as he has finished outside the top 25 in two of three games. However, the Browns running back is a strong RB2 start in Week 4 against the Raiders. Las Vegas has allowed the second-most fantasy points to running backs this season and the third-most rush yards (398). After seeing what Hubbard did against that run defense last week, Ford should be in lineups this week.

Matchups We Hate:

Raiders RBs

Fantasy managers can't trust any Raiders running back heading into Week 4. Zamir White played less than 25% of the team's offensive snaps last week in a negative game script, and Alexander Mattison totaled just six touches on 28 snaps. So, it's risky to trust either running back in fantasy heading into Week 4.

Other Matchups:

QB Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson continues to struggle through the air and has failed to throw for more than 200 yards in any game this season. So, fantasy managers definitely shouldn't be starting him in one-quarterback leagues. But in Superflex formats, he has some appeal as a low-end QB2 against a Raiders defense that just allowed over 300 passing yards and three touchdowns last week.

QB Gardner Minshew II

Despite struggling last week against the Panthers, Gardner Minshew will remain the Raiders quarterback in Week 4. However, fantasy managers shouldn't be starting him in most cases this weekend. He hasn't totaled more than 15 fantasy points in a game this season and Cleveland is allowing only 14.7 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

WR Amari Cooper

It's a revenge game for Amari Cooper after he spent his first three years with the Raiders (2015 to 2017). So, Cooper will surely want to bring his best against the team that drafted him. This matchup is also a solid one for the veteran. Las Vegas is allowing over 35 fantasy points to opposing wideouts, and Diontae Johnson just had his best game of the season against it in Week 3. Therefore, Cooper comes in as a low-end WR2.

WR Jerry Jeudy

Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has been somewhat of a weekly flex play to open the season. He has scored in double figures in PPR formats in two of three games while seeing at least six targets in all three contests to start the year. Given Las Vegas' struggles last week against the Panthers, Jeudy could be a potential flex play in 12-plus team leagues.

WR Davante Adams

Quarterback play continues to hurt Davante Adams' fantasy production. The All-Pro wideout has scored under 11 PPR fantasy points in two of three games this season. However, it's hard to sit him because he does have the chance to score 25-plus points on any given week. With Adams likely lined up opposite Martin Emerson Jr. for a handful of snaps on Sunday, he's a solid WR2 in Week 4.

Update: Adams suffered a hamstring injury in Thursday's practice and is ruled out for Week 4. Jakobi Meyers is now a solid WR3 option.

TE Brock Bowers

Fantasy managers were likely somewhat disappointed with Brock Bowers' fantasy day in Week 3, as he totaled just three catches for 41 yards (7.1 PPR fantasy points). Nonetheless, you shouldn't be sitting the rookie this week against the Browns. He has emerged as one of the best fantasy options at the position and is a set-it-and-forget-it tight end moving forward. So, keep Bowers in your lineups for Week 4.

Injuries:

  • David Njoku (ankle)
  • Davante Adams (hamstring)

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers

Spread: Chiefs -7.5

Implied Total: Chiefs (23.5) vs. Chargers (16)

Matchups We Love:

TE Hayden Hurst

Now, putting Hayden Hurst on this list doesn't mean you should be picking him up and starting him 100%. However, if you are in a deeper league and desperate need of a tight end, Hurst could be a sneaky option. Not only are the Chargers huge underdogs in this game, but the Chiefs have been the worst team at defending tight ends this season. Kansas City is allowing over 22 PPR fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2024.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Patrick Mahomes

It's been nine weeks since Patrick Mahomes has finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in a game. As a result, Mahomes is no longer a must-start fantasy option, especially against a tough Chargers defense this week. Even with Derwin James Jr. (suspended) out for this contest, the Chargers have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this year. So, the Chiefs quarterback will come in as a low-end QB1 in Week 4.

RB J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins won a lot of fantasy managers their matchups in the first two weeks, but the 25-year-old busted last week after scoring just 8.4 PPR fantasy points. Unfortunately, another bust week could be in store for Dobbins against the Chiefs. Kansas City has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season while giving up only 3.3 yards per carry. So, the Chargers back is a risky RB2 in Week 4.

RB Carson Steele

The Chargers defense has been quite a surprise in the early going, and that unit has been one of the better teams at stopping the run through the first three weeks. It is allowing only 3.9 yards per carry and has yet to give up a rushing touchdown to a running back this season. With Kareem Hunt on the active roster now, Carson Steele is too risky to trust this weekend against a solid defense.

Chargers WRs

With Justin Herbert dealing with an ankle injury and his status uncertain for Week 4, all Chargers pass-catchers will be risky plays in Week 4. The Chiefs have allowed the sixth-fewest receiving yards (340) to wideouts this season, and part of that is due to Trent McDuffie's emergence in the secondary. McDuffie could be matched up against both Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston in this game, so both should be avoided this week.

Other Matchups:

QB Justin Herbert

It remains to be seen if Herbert will play in Week 4. With the Chargers having a bye next week, the team could decide to rest him on Sunday. Even if he plays, though, he shouldn't be started in most Superflex formats this weekend. He has yet to finish as a top-20 quarterback in fantasy this season.

Update: Herbert is questionable for Sunday.

WR Rashee Rice

Rice has become Mahomes' favorite target in the passing game, which has turned him into a fantasy star through the first three weeks. He is currently the WR2 in PPR formats. As a result, he is a must-start fantasy option moving forward, especially in Week 4 against Chargers slot corner Ja'Sir Taylor.

WR Xavier Worthy

Xavier Worthy will continue to be a boom-or-bust play in fantasy. After totaling 20.8 PPR fantasy points in Week 1, Worthy has failed to score more than five PPR fantasy points in either of the last two games. With the Chiefs entering Sunday's game as big favorites, the rookie might be too hard to trust in fantasy this week.

TE Travis Kelce

At this point of the season, you just have to keep rolling with Travis Kelce at tight end -- unless you also drafted Bowers in the later rounds. It hasn't been pretty for Kelce through the first three weeks, and he has caught just eight passes for 69 yards. But a better game could be in store for the veteran in Week 4. The Chargers have allowed over 10 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this year, so he's still a TE1 this week.

Injuries:

  • Justin Herbert (ankle)

Matchup Analysis - Sunday Night Football

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens

Spread: Ravens -2.5

Implied Total: Bills (22) vs. Ravens (24.5)

Matchups We Love:

QB Josh Allen

Allen is a must-start quarterback every week and now has a great matchup against the Ravens in Week 4. Baltimore has allowed the most passing yards (946) this season, and two of the three quarterbacks it has faced (Mahomes and Dak Prescott) threw for over 290 yards. So, Allen should be in for a strong fantasy day this weekend.

WR Khalil Shakir

Through the first three weeks, it looks like Khalil Shakir is starting to become Allen's go-to target in the middle of the field. Shakir has totaled at least five catches in back-to-back games and is coming off a 19.2 PPR fantasy point day against the Jaguars. Given that recent game and the fact that the Ravens have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to slot wide receivers this year, the Bills playmaker is a sneaky flex option this week.

TE Dalton Kincaid

Many expected Dalton Kincaid to break out in fantasy this year following a solid rookie campaign. But through the first three weeks, it has been hard to trust him. But make sure to get Kincaid in your lineups this week because Baltimore has allowed the second-most fantasy points to tight ends this year. Bowers (18.8 PPR points) and Jake Ferguson (15.5 PPR points) both had strong fantasy days against the Ravens.

Matchups We Hate:

RB James Cook

No, you shouldn't be sitting James Cook this week because he lands in this section. But expectations should be tempered in Week 4 against a tough Ravens defense. Baltimore has given up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season while allowing only 2.8 yards per carry on the ground.

Other Matchups:

QB Lamar Jackson

The Bills have had one of the better defenses to start the season, and they have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. However, you aren't sitting Lamar Jackson in fantasy in this game. Jackson has finished as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in every contest, including a QB4 finish against the Cowboys last week.

RB Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry ran all over Dallas in Week 3, running for 151 yards and two touchdowns en route to an RB3 finish in PPR formats. Now, he gets a Bills defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing running backs in 2024. Assuming the Ravens don't fall behind big, Henry should have a strong fantasy day. He's a low-end RB1 in Week 4.

WR Zay Flowers

With the Ravens throwing only 15 times last week, Zay Flowers didn't see many opportunities in the passing game. He caught just three passes for 20 yards. However, expect him to be more involved in Week 4. Even though the Bills are allowing the third-fewest receiving yards (301) to wideouts this year, Christian Kirk just had his best game last week while working in the slot. So, Flowers is a WR2 this week.

TE Mark Andrews

After playing only 33% of the team's offensive snaps last week, it's becoming harder and harder to trust Mark Andrews. Andrews has caught two passes or less in two of three games this season. If there were a week to start him, though, it's against the Bills. Buffalo has allowed the third-most receptions (18) to tight ends so far in 2024. As a result, he could be more involved in Week 4 in what should be a close game.

Injuries:

None

Matchups Analysis - Monday Night Football

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins

Spread: Dolphins -1.5

Implied Total: Titans (17.5) vs. Dolphins (19)

Matchups We Love:

RB Tony Pollard

It was a weird game for Tony Pollard in Week 3 as the Titans fell behind early to the Packers. He saw just six carries in that contest and finished with only 5.9 PPR fantasy points. But a better fantasy game should be in store for the 27-year-old running back. The Dolphins have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this year. So, Pollard is a solid RB2 option in Week 4.

Matchups We Hate:

Dolphins WRs

After poor showings from both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle last week, it'll be hard to roll out either wideout in Week 4 against the Titans. With Skylar Thompson (chest), Tyler Huntley, or Tim Boyle starting on Monday, both Dolphin wideouts are risky plays. Hill comes in as more of a WR2, while Waddle should only be started in 14-plus team leagues.

Other Matchups:

Dolphins QBs

If Thompson or Boyle start for the Dolphins on Monday, neither should be started in most Superflex formats. However, if Huntley gets the start, he could be a low-end QB2 option this week. In two of his five starts in 2022, the former Ravens quarterback finished as a top-20 fantasy quarterback. Given his rushing upside, he could get fantasy managers somewhere between 10 and 15 fantasy points.

QB Will Levis

It has not been a strong start to the fantasy season for quarterback Will Levis. Levis has yet to score above 16 fantasy points in a game this season and now faces a Dolphins defense that has allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2024. So, the Titans quarterback is a risky QB2 option in Week 4.

RB De'Von Achane

It was a rough Week 3 performance for De'Von Achane. The second-year running back only scored 8.8 PPR fantasy points and finished as the RB33 in PPR formats. With Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) on injured reserve, Achane's fantasy value does take a little bit of a hit. But after playing 74% of the offensive snaps last week and seeing five targets, he should be started in most formats in Week 4.

Titans WRs

Given Levis's struggles to start the season, it's hard to rely on both Calvin Ridley and Hopkins in Week 4. Ridley only saw three targets last week, while Hopkins played just 46% of the team's offensive snaps as he works his way back from a knee injury he suffered in training camp. As a result, both wide receivers are fringe flex plays against the Dolphins.

Injuries:

  • Tua Tagovailoa (concussion)
  • Skylar Thompson (chest)

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Spread: Lions -3.5

Implied Total: Seahawks (21.5) vs. Lions (25)

Matchups We Love:

WRs DK Metcalf/Jaxon Smith-Njigba

The Lions secondary has surely had a hard time stopping opposing wide receivers so far this year. Through three weeks, they have allowed the second-most fantasy points and most receiving yards (609) to the wide receiver position. As a result, both Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are strong plays in Week 4.

Metcalf has scored over 20 PPR fantasy points in back-to-back games and is a strong WR1 this week. As for Smith-Njigba, he is a high-end WR3 against this Detroit secondary.

Matchups We Hate:

QB Jared Goff

Jared Goff hasn't been a strong fantasy option in the first few weeks and currently ranks as the QB22. Unfortunately, things don't get better for him in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. That defense has looked solid in 2024, so Goff should only be started as your QB2 in Superflex formats.

Seahawks RBs

There's a chance Kenneth Walker III (oblique) returns in Week 4 after missing the past two games. If he doesn't, though, Zach Charbonnet should be in line for another start. However, whoever starts for Seattle in Week 4 is not a strong fantasy play. The Lions have been the best run defense in the NFL through three weeks and opposing running backs are only averaging 8.8 PPR fantasy points per game against that unit this season.

WR Jameson Williams

Jameson Williams is an interesting case heading into Week 4. In the first two weeks, he totaled over 75 receiving yards in both games. However, catching one pass last week makes him a risky play in fantasy this week. With Riq Woolen also likely on him throughout the contest, Williams is more of a WR3. Woolen ranks seventh in target separation (0.9) and sixth in yards per target allowed (3.4) this season.

Other Matchups:

QB Geno Smith

Geno Smith has looked great under center with a new offensive coordinator in 2024. That has helped him finish as a top-10 fantasy quarterback in two of three weeks. Now, he faces a Lions secondary that has given up the 12th-most passing yards (709) this season. Therefore, Smith is a high-end QB2 this week.

Lions RBs

It has been somewhat of a headache to roster David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs this season. Gibbs has seen only 53% of the offensive snaps this season, while Montgomery has seen 45% of the snaps. But, it's hard to sit either in Week 4. The Seahawks are allowing over 4.3 yards per carry to opposing running backs this season.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

You are starting Amon-Ra St. Brown every week. You drafted him in the first round, and he has scored over 20 PPR fantasy points in back-to-back games. Even though he will likely draw the tough Devon Witherspoon assignment on Monday, St. Brown should be started in all formats on Monday.

TE Sam LaPorta

Sam LaPorta (ankle) injured his ankle last week and his status is in jeopardy for Week 4. With the Lions having a bye in Week 5, they could realistically hold him out of Monday's contest. If he plays, though, he is a low-end TE1 against the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed over 11 PPR fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2024.

Update: Sam LaPorta will play in Week 4.

Injuries:

None
