When Is Evan Engram Coming Back? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Evan Engram - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

When is tight end Evan Engram coming back? Will Evan Engram play again this season? Read about Evan Engram's return date and injury updates for Week 4 of 2024.

After an underwhelming performance in Week 1, Evan Engram has now missed back-to-back games due to a hamstring injury. The Jacksonville Jaguars have started the season 0-3, and they desperately need their starting tight end back.

Engram suffered the injury during his pregame warmups in Week 2, and quarterback Trevor Lawrence has struggled mightily in his absence. The Jaguars lost 47-10 to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, and the team's offense has not scored 20 points once this season.

How serious is Engram's injury? When will he return to play? Let's take a look at the Jaguars tight end's status ahead of Week 4.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Evan Engram Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Evan Engram is currently listed as questionable for the Jaguars' Week 4 game against the Houston Texans. There is a possibility that he might play next week, but it is not certain as of now.

The Jaguars are in a must-win situation against the Texans in Week 4, which means that the star tight end might force himself to play to save his team's season. Dating back to last season, the Jaguars have lost eight straight games, and nothing seems to be working for them.

In the 19 games that he has played without Engram, Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 4,039 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions, with a passer rating of 71.5 and a completion percentage of just 58.8. The Jaguars are 3-16 in these games, and it shows how important the 30-year-old tight end is to his team's success.

Evan Engram Fantasy Football Outlook

Evan Engram finished with just one reception for five yards on four targets in Week 1. In his absence, backup tight end Brenton Strange has been given an opportunity to make a name for himself.

Although Strange scored a touchdown against the Bills, his production is now nowhere near that of Engram's. Strange has five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets across the first three games of the season.

Engram finished last season with 114 receptions for 943 yards and four touchdowns on 143 targets in 17 games. He had an average of 6.7 targets per game last season, and once he's back, that number will likely stay the same. The Jaguars have back-to-back games against division rivals, the Texans and the Colts, in the next two weeks and if Engram continues to miss time, things could get messy in Jacksonville.
