BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB33
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Chiefs running back Samaje Perine has had little fantasy value over the first two weeks this season. He is the RB69, totaling 2.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran isn’t a typical fantasy running back, providing more value in the passing game than on the ground. Perine has zero rushing attempts this year and two receptions for 13 receiving yards.
Unfortunately, the Chiefs will be without Isiah Pacheco for several weeks because of a broken fibula, leaving Carson Steele and Perine as the top two running backs on the depth chart. While Kansas City signed Kareem Hunt to the practice squad earlier this week, head coach Andy Reid said the veteran won’t be in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Andy Reid told reporters that Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt will not be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday night’s game vs. the Falcons.

Hunt’s absence is excellent news for Perine’s fantasy players. He should see more work on the ground and all of the touches in the passing game with Hunt not playing Sunday night. Meanwhile, the Falcons have surrendered 95.5 rushing yards per game to running backs over the first two weeks.
Fantasy players can start Perine as a flex option, especially in half-point and full PPR leagues, with the veteran likely seeing four or more targets on Sunday night.
