2 months agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner turned in another strong performance in Week 2; the veteran back will look to continue his success against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. He seems poised to continue thriving under head coach Jonathan Gannon in Arizona. Since Gannon took over, Conner has averaged over 80 rushing yards per game, a trend that appears set to continue in 2024. As the Cardinals' workhorse, Conner handles more than 20 touches per game to start the season. Impressively, he's averaging 4.5 red zone touches per game and accounts for 80% of the Cardinals' red zone rushing attempts. With the complete trust of the coaching staff, particularly in scoring situations, Conner is expected to remain heavily involved in what should be a closely contested NFC matchup against Detroit.
