BALLER MOVE: Sit in all leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR7
ANALYSIS: Flashes of potential in his rookie season aren't paying out for Demario Douglas in year two.
The former sixth-round pick caught 49 passes for 561 yards in his first year. By the middle of the season, he routinely played over 70% of the snaps, even over 90% in the Patriots' final two games.
Through two games in 2024, the man they call "Pop" has two catches on three targets for 12 yards. He did not earn a target during the Week 2 loss to Seattle. He's topped out at 60% of snaps, and he's voicing his frustration with the lack of targets.
Jacoby Brissett on DeMario Douglas being frustrated with his targets:
"It's a good thing that he's frustrated, you want players that want the ball. It would be a crime if he didn't, you know.I understood his frustration."#Patriots #NFL #NEPats

Jacoby Brissett is leaning on tight end Hunter Henry in the passing game while the offensive staff dials up a lot of running plays for Rhamondre Stevenson. It's (surprisingly) kept New England competitive.
This week, Douglas and the rest of the Patriots' wide receivers draw a matchup against a stingy Jets' secondary on Thursday Night Football. Brissett is averaging 135 passing yards per game. That number could drop even more after a visit to East Rutherford.
Douglas can be sent to the waiver wire if he's not already there. The New England passing offense offers little upside, and the coaching staff is eager to get rookie wideout Ja'Lynn Polk more involved. There's not enough volume for Douglas.
