BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: The Atlanta Falcons got off to an ice-cold start to the 2024 season. QB Kirk Cousins has had a fantastic career, especially at supporting fantasy-relevant WRs, and Mooney is the No. 2 WR on the Falcons' depth chart. WR Ray-Ray McCloud III led the team in receiving yards in Week 1.
Cousins only threw for 155 yards, and Mooney was a non-factor with one catch for 15 yards (2.5 PPR fantasy points). Cousins tore his Achilles in late October of 2023, and it's safe to assume he's not quite 100% yet. Achilles injuries require around 11 months recovery time.
Cousins is also 36 years old, which has likely made his recovery slower. He is also probably quite rusty, having been held out of football activities for much of the offseason due to his injury.

Mooney hasn't been startable outside of very deep leagues for most of his career, and he's in a better situation (once Cousins is 100%), but it will take time for the offense to get into gear. There's also a chance McCloud III could take over as the de-facto WR3, which might make Mooney irrelevant altogether.
For now, don't put Mooney in your starting lineups. There are plenty of better options.
