Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Fantasy Baseball SP Pickups and Starts - Week 26 (2024)

Albert Suarez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Starting pitcher two-start streamers for Week 26 (2024). Fantasy baseball SP waiver wire pickups for pitchers with two starts scheduled in the week ahead, September 16 to September 22.

Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 26, from September 16 to September 22. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 41 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Albert Suarez (31% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: vs. SF, vs. DET

Albert Suarez has mostly kept steady all year for the Baltimore Orioles, carrying a 3.39 ERA, 3.83 FIP, and 18.8% strikeout rate through 119 1/3 innings.

While his strikeout ceiling may discourage some from a Suarez stream, his run-prevention abilities and strong supporting cast make him a good option against two middle-of-the-road offenses (San Francisco and Detroit rank 16th and 17th in runs scored, respectively, this season).

Reid Detmers (24% Rostered), Los Angeles Angels

Scheduled Starts: vs. CHW, @ HOU

His 5.64 ERA won't tell you this, but Detmers could be a sneaky good option this week in fantasy. Since returning to MLB two weeks ago, Detmers holds a 3.00 ERA, 2.26 FIP, 38.3% strikeout rate, and 1.00 WHIP through 12 innings.

While it is a small sample size, he stymied the Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins -- two robust, playoff-caliber offenses.

While a Houston offense ranked 12th in scoring this season will make this less of a confident stream than one may prefer, you want Detmers' high strikeout ceiling against the historically awful Chicago White Sox squad.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Ryne Nelson (46% Rostered), Arizona Diamondbacks

Scheduled Starts: @ COL, @ MIL

Ryne Nelson's 4.33 ERA covers a half-decent 3.77 FIP and 5.5% walk rate. There would be some value to streaming Nelson in a more favorable week, but a Coors start and a top-10 offense the next start make it difficult to consider him this week.

Shane Baz (45% Rostered), Tampa Bay Rays

Scheduled Starts: vs. BOS, vs. TOR

With a 3.28 ERA, 20.2% strikeout rate, and 1.19 WHIP, most would be looking for Shane Baz on their waiver wires during the home stretch.

However, a 4.27 FIP, 9.7% walk rate, and 98 Location+ grade should damage your confidence in Baz. You wouldn't want to risk it with a start against a top-10 Boston offense up next.

Colin Rea (45% Rostered), Milwaukee Brewers

Scheduled Starts: vs. PHI, vs. ARZ

Colin Rea has filled in nicely as a streaming candidate all season, but you should understand why it won't be his week.

Disregarding the 4.21 ERA, 4.79 FIP, and 18.9% strikeout rate, there are very few, if any, pitchers you would take against a top-five scoring Phillies offense, much less an Arizona lineup that leads the league in scoring by a whopping 68 runs this season.

Bobby Miller (43% Rostered), Los Angeles Dodgers

Scheduled Starts: @ MIA, vs. COL

With an 8.17 ERA, 7.13 FIP, 1.69 WHIP, and 11.9% walk rate through 12 starts this season, it's hard to justify keeping Bobby Miller in consideration at this stage of the season.

His incredible rookie year and 113 Stuff+ grade still make him a tantalizing prospect long-term, but you simply can't trust him against any offense. It makes this week all the more unfortunate, as he'll get a Miami offense ranked 29th in scoring this season and the Rockies offense in Dodger Stadium.

Aaron Civale (42% Rostered), Milwaukee Brewers

Scheduled Starts: vs. PHI, vs. ARZ

Much like Rea, you don't even need to look at Aaron Civale's statistical profile to disregard him in this week's streaming conversation with Philadelphia and Arizona on the slate.

But if you really need it, Civale's 4.57 ERA, 4.70 FIP, 7.5% walk rate, and 97 Stuff+ grade would make him a difficult stream against most offenses.

Robbie Ray (42% Rostered), San Francisco Giants

Scheduled Starts: @ BAL, @ KC

A 33.3% strikeout rate and 4.10 xFIP since Robbie Ray's return in August may convince some to take a chance on the 2021 Cy Young Award winner, but two top-10 offenses on his schedule make him a risky stream.

Gavin Williams (40% Rostered), Cleveland Guardians

Scheduled Starts: vs. MIN, @ STL

Gavin Williams has yet to settle down, with a 5.23 ERA still overshadowing his 24% strikeout rate and 3.88 FIP. You may want to believe this will be his week, but you'd rather not take the chance with a Minnesota offense ranked 11th in scoring this season next up.

Jake Irvin (33% Rostered), Washington Nationals

Scheduled Starts: @ NYM, @ CHC

Jake Irvin has had a rough go of it lately, but a 3.95 xFIP, 1.19 WHIP, 20.6% strikeout rate, 6.3% walk rate, and 10 wins this season are nothing to scoff at.

He is a competitive option in most cases, but with matchups against two of the league's hottest offenses (Chicago ranks second and New York ranks fifth in scoring since August 13) you shouldn't look for Irvin this week.

Reese Olson (15% Rostered), Detroit Tigers

Scheduled Starts: @ KC, @ BAL

The ever-so-reliable Reese Olson returns from injury this week and steps right into a two-start week. His 3.23 ERA, 3.13 FIP, 1.18 WHIP, 21.6% strikeout rate, 7.3% walk rate, 5.4% barrel rate, 51.2% ground-ball rate, and 12.4% SwStr% make him a regular favorite in this column.

Unfortunately, you may have to pass on Olson this week with two top-10 offenses scheduled for his return to the mound.
