Week 2 Running Back Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers - Fantasy Football Outlook
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (back) had a solid game in Week 1, with 104 yards from scrimmage and three receptions. He'll look to build on that against the Indianapolis Colts in the Packers' home opener in Week 2. Throughout the week, Jacobs had been limited in practices with a back injury, but Friday's practice report had no designation for Jacobs.
He should be good to go against a Colts' defense that was gashed repeatedly by Texans' running back Joe Mixon to the tune of 159 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Packers will need Jacobs as the team is likely to start Malik Willis in the place of Jordan Love (knee).
Consider Jacobs a low-end RB1 in fantasy that should get quite a bit of volume, especially if fellow running back MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) cannot suit up for the team in Week 2.
- Kevin Tompkins, RotoBaller
Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens - Fantasy Football Outlook
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is primed for a bigger performance entering Week 2 after a promising first drive to his Ravens tenure led to fewer opportunities as the game went on. The veteran back didn't quite perform up to expectations despite scoring a touchdown in the beginning of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
He only finished with 46 yards on 13 yards while Lamar Jackson called his own number 16 times and gained 122 yards in comparison. Now, Henry sets his sights on the Las Vegas Raiders who just gave up 135 yards and a score to J.K. Dobbins in Week 1.
A lot of Dobbins' yards were untouched at that. Henry will likely be fed early and often again, and he'll make the Raiders defense pay a lot like Dobbins. Henry remains in RB1 territory heading into this matchup.
- Alex Fischbein, RotoBaller
Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks - Fantasy Football Outlook
With Seattle Seahawks starting running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) doubtful for Sunday, Zach Charbonnet figures to see an enhanced workload. Charbonnet finished Week 1 in relief of Walker. He finished with eight carries for 12 yards and two receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown.
Charbonnet was completely ineffective on the ground. If it weren't for a 30-yard reception touchdown on a defensive miscommunication, his stat line would look much worse. Even so, Charbonnet is likely going to be elevated to the starting position in Week 2.
He should have an even higher workload than Walker usually does due to the lack of competition behind him. Against a tough Patriots defense, Charbonnet can be deployed as a flex play with RB2 upside.
- Quincy Milton III, RotoBaller
