ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill remains one of the most fascinating NFL players given how he's utilized in a utility role on offense. The Saints have not been shy about their intention to use him at tight end, wide receiver, fullback, quarterback, running back, and even on special teams.
Despite his versatility, Hill saw relatively low usage in Week 1. He played just 32 percent of snaps, catching one of two targets for one yard. He nearly had a touchdown catch, but it was broken up by an impressive defensive play. The veteran also rushed five times for 35 yards.

Hill's efficiency on the ground was solid, but we would have liked to see him get more than six touches. However, it's possible we can attribute this to the Saints' huge lead over the Panthers, which allowed them to focus on a heavier running game with some of their depth players, like Jamaal Williams.
Perhaps a more competitive, close matchup would bode better for Hill's fantasy value. We could see that as soon as Week 2 with the Saints currently underdogs against the Dallas Cowboys. If the Saints are a bit more desperate for points this week, we could see them place the ball in Hill's hands more often.
As a result, he remains just outside the top 12 fantasy tight ends. He's a borderline starter in leagues with 12 teams or more, as well as a very solid stash on the bench in 10-team leagues.
With tight ends injured (David Njoku) or underperforming (Mark Andrews) early in the year, Hill is a strong waiver wire target and potential trade chip.
