Rashid Shaheed Week 2 Waiver Wire Outlook
For starters, let's recognize that Shaheed is already rostered in nearly 50 percent of fantasy leagues, so there's a chance he could be unavailable in your league.
However, if he is available, he represents one of this week's top waiver wire targets.
Shaheed caught three passes for 73 yards and one touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
On one hand, you could argue that his production was inflated by the favorable matchup. On the other hand, you could argue that he would've produced even more if the Saints had been playing from behind and didn't run the ball as much.
Regardless of your stance, Week 1 was a clear indication that Shaheed is capable of commanding a solid target share and breaking off big plays by exposing holes in opposing secondaries.

Should I Pick Up Rashid Shaheed In Week 2?
Shaheed is worth rostering in leagues with at least 12 teams (and possibly even 10 teams) given his incredible upside at the wide receiver position. He's one of the best deep threats in the NFL, meaning his odds of catching a long touchdown pass are as good as anyone's.
Shaheed does have a lower floor because of his playing style; teams don't take a whole lot of shots down field, so Shaheed needs to capitalize on every opportunity he gets. If he doesn't break 50 yards or catch a touchdown, he's probably going to give you minimal fantasy production.
Still, with Shaheed, he has shown that the reward outweighs the risk. Managers would be wise to place a claim on the Saints' No. 2 receiver heading into Week 2.
Last season, Rashid Shaheed led the league with 9 receptions of 30+ air yards, and he scored on his first such target this season.
