David Njoku Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Njoku (ankle) left early in the third quarter of the blowout loss to Dallas. Jordan Akins, a veteran who spent five seasons in Houston before joining the Browns last season, replaced him and finished with three catches for 27 yards.
David Njoku - ankle injury
How concerned should we be?
Sounds like a high-ankle sprain is a very realistic possibility. @InjuryExpertz pic.twitter.com/bKMn9XdL81

Njoku is considered week-to-week with the ankle injury, which has not been diagnosed publically but is believed to be a high ankle sprain. High ankle sprains typically take four to six weeks to return to play, but return times can vary. Prepare to be without Njoku in your fantasy lineups for a few weeks.
David Njoku Fantasy Football Outlook
With the veteran considered week-to-week but not placed on the injured reserve as of now, you may not be able to place him on your IR spot in leagues based on league IR rules. Even if you can’t utilize an IR spot, do not cut Njoku. He will still be a TE1 once he returns from injury.
In the meantime, Jordan Akins gets a boost. Akins played with Deshaun Watson in Houston and has had a few boom games in his career. He will be a touchdown-dependent option for as long as Njoku remains inactive.
