Jake Ferguson Could Play In Week 2
3 months agoUpdating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson (knee) could still play in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints after being diagnosed with a bone bruise and a minor sprain of the MCL in his left knee that he suffered in the Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, according to a source. The Cowboys are listing Ferguson as week-to-week for now, and although he does technically have a shot to play in Week 2, it would be a bit of a surprise if he did. We'll have a better idea when we see if Ferguson is able to practice at all later this week. If Ferguson is unable to play in Week 2 against the Saints, expect Luke Schoonmaker to become the team's primary pass-catching tight end, but fullback Hunter Luepke could also become more involved. Schoonmaker wouldn't be anything more than a sleeper TE2 play in deeper fantasy leagues if Ferguson is out in Week 2 and beyond. UPDATE: Head coach Mike McCarthy said the team had "good news" on Ferguson, who will work in the "return-to-play group" in Wednesday's practice.
