Jason Foley Picks Up 21st Save Of Season
3 months agoDetroit Tigers closer Jason Foley picked up his 21st save of the season on Saturday as the Tigers beat the Oakland Athletics 2-1. Foley replaced Sean Guenther with one out in the ninth, gave up a single and recorded one strikeout on his way to securing the save. Foley now has a 2.92 ERA and ranks 10th in the AL in saves. With 21 saves in 24 opportunities, Foley has shown he can slam the door shut when given the opportunity. His fantasy value is still held back by the limited amount of opportunities he has with the Tigers, but he remains a solid option when given the chance. Fantasy managers looking for help in the closer role may want to look at Foley for the coming week as he may have more opportunities than normal coming up with the Colorado Rockies set to visit Detroit this week.
