Giants Place Kyle Harrison On 15-Day Injured List
3 months agoThe San Francisco Giants placed left-hander Kyle Harrison (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Sept. 4) on Friday with left-shoulder inflammation and recalled right-hander Austin Warren from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. The move comes after Harrison was slapped around on Tuesday in his most recent outing versus the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks, when he surrendered six earned runs on seven hits while walking one and fanning three in just 2 2/3 frames. The 23-year-old southpaw has been awful since the start of August with a 7.76 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 26 2/3 innings, but it's unclear how long his shoulder has been bothering him. There is time for Harrison to return to SF's starting rotation, but only if he's able to return after the 15 days. In any event, there's a good chance we've seen the last of Harrison in 2024.
