After an exciting Week 1 in college football, we now have some information on how teams are playing, how the new rules are affecting the game, and also some more competitive games that could shift the DFS landscape.
Heading into Week 2 of CFB DFS, the biggest thing to remember is not to simply look at the points-per-game totals from one week. Some players popped; however, some of that may mean regression is coming, or a simply tougher matchup makes their success rate lower.
In this article below, you will find my CFB DFS lineup picks for Week 2 (Saturday, September 7) via my positional college football rankings. CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings
QB | Cash Rankings Per $ | QB | GPP Rankings Per $
1 | Avery Johnson | 1 | Avery Johnson
2 | Taylen Green | 2 | Payton Thorne
3 | Cam Rising | 3 | Taylen Green
4 | Kyle McCord | 4 | Brendan Sorsby
5 | Drew Allar | 5 | Alan Bowman
6 | Payton Thorne | 6 | Cam Rising
7 | Eli Holstein | 7 | Drew Allar
8 | Brendan Sorsby | 8 | Aidan Chiles
9 | Riley Leonard | 9 | Eli Holstein
10 | Haynes King | 10 | Brock Vandagriff |
Much like Week 1, there will be a strong play in cash games at the top, this week with Avery Johnson. The Kansas State quarterback is a dual threat in a plus matchup. Expect very high ownership across the board.
In GPPs, there are several ways to go. Players such as Bowman, Rising, and Allar are not likely the run threats others are, but may still have massive games. Aidan Chiles was an interesting case last week after his poor 10-of-24 outing in passing; he may be off most people's radar, but he has a massive upside.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings
RB | Cash Rankings Per $ | RB | GPP Rankings Per $
1 | Desmond Reid | 1 | Ollie Gordon II
2 | Ollie Gordon II | 2 | Nicholas Singleton
3 | Nicholas Singleton | 3 | DJ Giddens
4 | DJ Giddens | 4 | Desmond Reid
5 | Ja'Quinden Jackson | 5 | Ja'Quinden Jackson
6 | LeQuint Allen | 6 | Raheim Sanders
7 | Jamal Haynes | 7 | LeQuint Allen
8 | Jeremiyah Love | 8 | D. Sumo-Karngbaye
9 | Raheim Sanders | 9 | Jeremiyah Love
10 | Jadyn Ott | 10 | Jamal Haynes |
The running back group this week is chock-full of outstanding cash-game plays across the board. This will likely be where you get your flex position from and possibly even super flex. Desmond Reid showed in Week 1 that he is worthy of bell-cow status, so until his prices rise, continue to put him in cash games.
On the GPP side, there are a few players who maybe did not have the biggest workloads in Week 1, but in higher matchups may have more upside. Ja'Quinden Jackson and Jeremiyah Love did not get a ton of work in their first games but have great game scripts to post massive stat lines.
CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings
WR | Cash Rankings Per $ | WR | GPP Rankings Per $
1 | Oronde Gadsden II | 1 | Harrison Wallace
2 | Harrison Wallace | 2 | Barion Brown
3 | Barion Brown | 3 | Xzavier Henderson
4 | Xzavier Henderson | 4 | K. Lambert-Smith
5 | Brennan Presley | 5 | Oronde Gadsden II
6 | Colston Loveland | 6 | Rashad Owens
7 | Brant Kuithe | 7 | Brant Kuithe
8 | De'Zhaun Stribling | 8 | Trayvon Rudolph
9 | Isaiah Bond | 9 | Cam Coleman
10 | Trebor Pena | 10 | Kenny Johnson |
Wide receiver is certainly the most volatile position to start the year in cash games. Brant Kuithe, Colston Loveland, and Oronde Gadsden II will get a ton of love this week. It is important to remember they are all tight ends who tend to have some limited upside in GPPs.
On the GPP side, we try to focus on passing attacks that are likely to air out in big games. Auburn, Syracuse, Oklahoma State, and Penn State seem to fit that mold this week.
