Miami Dolphins wide receiver has consistently been one of the flashier names in fantasy football. Despite playing alongside Tyreek Hill, the former first-round pick has emerged as a reliable playmaker in one of the NFL's high-powered offenses.
However, Waddle is battling an injury that could threaten his availability for Week 1 of the 2024 season.

Will Jaylen Waddle Play In Week 1?
Waddle has been dealing with an injury since early August. While the Dolphins have abstained from disclosing much info on his specific injury, observers have noticed a compression sleeve on his lower left leg and suspect he's dealing with a calf issue.
The Dolphins' receiver was spotted in a non-contact jersey last Wednesday. Although it was promising to see him on the practice field, fantasy managers would surely like to see him back to 100 percent without any limitations.
We likely won't know more about his Week 1 status until the Dolphins' final injury report comes out on Friday.

Jaylen Waddle Fantasy Outlook
Waddle has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in all three of his NFL seasons, totaling 18 touchdowns along the way. Most importantly, he has shown that he can co-exist alongside Hill, who is a yearly threat to finish as the overall WR1.
There's a lot to get excited about with Waddle's underlying metrics. Last year, he tallied 2.68 yards per route run, 0.53 fantasy points per route run, and +69.7 expected points added. He was dominant against opposing cornerbacks with a 62.7 percent route win rate that ranked second among all NFL receivers.
Injuries slowed down Waddle last year, but he has top-12 upside as long as he can stay healthy. His value could soar even higher in the event that Hill misses time. Waddle is firmly in start-and-forget territory entering the 2024 season.
In the short term, all eyes will be on the Dolphins' injury report to evaluate Waddle's availability for Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He'd rank as a high-end WR2 with upside, assuming he's able to suit up.
