Jake Fraley Reinstated And Starting On Sunday
3 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds reinstated outfielder Jake Fraley (knee) from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and designated right-hander David Buchanan for assignment in a corresponding move. The team also activated left-hander Brent Suter (shoulder) from the 15-day IL and left-hander Brandon Williamson (shoulder) from the 60-day IL. Fraley is right back in the starting lineup in the series finale against the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers and right-hander Tobias Myers, starting in right field and batting sixth in the order. The 29-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder will return to a platoon role in Cincy's outfield now that he's recovered from his knee sprain and can be useful down the stretch for his speed (16 steals this year). Fraley has battled an assortment of injuries in 2024 and only has 273 total at-bats, hitting .271 with three homers and 23 RBI.
