Chris Buescher is fighting for his postseason life in this weekend's Cook Out Southern 500, as the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver currently sits 21 points to the good with one race remaining in the regular season. His postseason fate will be decided on Sunday night at Darlington, and Buescher will start from 10th-place when the race goes green. Looking back at the first race here this season, Buescher had a legitimate shot to win in the spring, but contact with Tyler Reddick relegated the No. 17 Ford to a 30th-place finish. Before that, Buescher had back-to-back top-10 results at "The Lady in Black." This weekend, the Fords look to have really good long-run speed and lower time falloff as the run progresses as well. That should be a good sign for Buescher. Looking at similar tracks this year (Las Vegas and Kansas in addition to the first Darlington race), the No. 17 Ford has the second-best average running position. Buescher should be a solid top-10 threat on Sunday night with top five upside as well.--Jordan McAbee

Chris Buescher ($8,300 on DraftKings this weekend) should be a strong DFS play for Sunday's Food City 500 race. The Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver has been one of the best in the Next Gen era at this track, with a win and three top-10 finishes over the four races that the Cup Series has ran here with this car. His only "bad" race was a 14th-place effort last fall. As far as this weekend goes Buescher qualified back in 24th for Sunday's race, but that 's pretty normal for him considering his average starting position in the Next Gen era is 22.75. That means Place Differential points on DraftKings, and Buescher has been one of the best at that here at Bristol. Look for the No. 17 Ford to be in contention for yet another top-10 finish this weekend. Buescher is currently tied for the series lead with five top-10 results through the first eight races of the season. --Jordan McAbee

Chris Buescher and his Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing team had yet another solid race weekend at Darlington, as the No. 17 Ford crossed the finish line in sixth place when the Goodyear 400 was all said and done. It was Buescher's fifth top-10 finish through the first eight races this year, and it kept him in 11th place in the points standings. This was also another strong showing for Buescher at Darlington specifically, as he now has four top-10 finishes over the last five races there. After the race was over on Sunday, the driver remarked, "We had a lot of speed today. Once that caution fell, it just trapped us. We spent the rest of the race trying to get that track position back. We got it at the end. We were able to move forward a little more on that final restart, but overall, a good day."--Jordan McAbee

Although he couldn't have known it at the time, Chris Buescher's and Tyler Reddick's slight contact while battling for the lead in last year's spring Darlington race arguably knocked Buescher out of the playoffs since he was leading with nine laps left when Reddick cut his tire and was relegated to a 30th-place finish. The 33 points he lost were far greater than his seven-point deficit to Martin Truex Jr. for the last playoff spot, so Buescher will likely be intensely motivated to right last year's wrong. The issue is that even though he remains just as consistent as ever, the RFK Racing cars seem to be significantly slower and hardly factor for the lead at all. However, Buescher's usually mediocre teammate Ryan Preece qualified second, so it wouldn't be shocking if he rivals last year's speed. Whether he has DFS value largely depends on whether he leads or not, but he probably won't.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

Chris Buescher of RFK Racing quietly nabbed a finish of sixth during Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In the first stage, Buescher began the race from the 11th position, riding around the top 15 through the duration of the stage. The No. 17 Ford driver ended stage one in 13th, failing to score stage points. In the second stage, Buescher would end up in the 11th position and fall short of earning stage points again. In the final stage, Buescher kept his car clean and, after his team made improvements, drove into the top 10 and fell short of a top-5 finish. This was a new career-best finish at Homestead for Buescher, as well as the fourth top-10 result of the season, tying him with Kyle Larson and William Byron for the second most this year.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
