Scott Engel's Fantasy Football Mock Draft - The King's 2024 One-Man Mock

CeeDee Lamb - Fantasy Football Rankings, DFS and Betting Picks, NFL Injury News

The biggest national obsession right now just might be asking oneself, “Who do I take with my first-round pick in fantasy football?” It’s the big question that interrupts workflow, sleep, and meaningful conversations with your significant other. As we head into the busiest final days of the 2024 Fantasy Football season, it is the best time to deliver my annual and updated one-man mock draft.

In this feature, I executed the picks for every one of the 12 teams in a six-round PPR Mock Draft, basing the selections on my own personal rankings and draft preferences. Starting lineup requirements include three WR spots and scoring-wise, four points are awarded for a TD pass. All other lineup and scoring parameters are standardized across most one-QB starter leagues.

At each draft slot, I considered draft flow, best players available, draft position, and needs after the first round or two while basing picks heavily on my rankings in the RotoBaller Season Pass. Enter KING at checkout for an additional discount when subscribing.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2024:

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round One

1. CeeDee Lamb Got his extension and back on top, and I lean toward a WR over the top RB here. Lamb has missed one game in four years.

2. Christian McCaffrey – I have Tyreek Hill one spot higher because my preference is to go with the elite WR over the RB. But CMC won’t make it past this spot in most drafts, so he stays here.

3, Tyreek Hill – To me, he is essentially tied with Lamb for No. 1 overall WR honors in fantasy football.

4. Amon-Ra St. Brown – He has a very high floor. Again, I will opt for the top WR on the board although others will move for the next RB available.

5. Breece Hall – I give him the nod over Bijan because Hall isn’t going to have anyone slicing into his workload like Tyler Allgeier can, even though Robinson will be highly efficient.

6. Bijan Robinson – In many drafts, he will be taken earlier than this slot, yet Robinson could also slip to six, as every draft has its own unique flow.

7. Justin Jefferson – I believe Jefferson is QB proof, and Sam Darnold can be better than anyone the Vikings standout played with last year after Kirk Cousins went down.

8. Garrett Wilson – True breakthrough year incoming if Rodgers stays healthy and the usual Jets bad luck does not ruin the offense somehow.

9. A.J. Brown – The Philadelphia offense has become a bit more crowded with playmakers. Brown will still go off the board in the sixth to 10th slot in many drafts.

10. Jonathan Taylor – It will be fun to see him work the RPO with Anthony Richardson.

11. Saquon Barkley – Obviously plays in a much better offense now, just has to avoid any major injuries. Sharing key touches on offense may prevent him from getting overworked and Barkley will enjoy not being in the defensive crosshairs quite as much.

12. Ja'Marr Chase – He was going to be back in the top 5 overall, but then the “hold-in” resumed.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round Two

13. Marvin Harrison Jr. When you draft late in the first round, there will be an opportunity to get off to a strong double WR start.

14. Jahmyr Gibbs Team 11 comes out of the first two rounds with a lot of RB upside, pairing Barkley with Gibbs.

15. Derrick Henry Team 10 follows the same route, starting off with an impressive duo of Taylor and Henry.

16. Isiah Pacheco His appeal takes a minor hit with Samaje Perine now projected to possibly complement Pacheco as a pass-catcher. But he will still be the lead RB for a top-flight offense and I remain comfortable with taking the Kansas City RB here.

17. Travis Etienne My top 8 WRs that are the prime targets at the position are off the board. This team already has a No. 1 WR, so the best available RB is the call here.

18. Puka Nacua The Cooper Kupp momentum has hurt Nacau’s stock to the point where he is no longer a first-rounder, but the 2021 First Team All-Pro is a sensible pick by this point.

19. Nico Collins Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell may cut into each other’s production enough, but Collins will remain the clear alpha WR for C.J. Stroud as he continues to ascend.

20. Chris Olave Many drafters won’t look to Olave for perceived upside. He should have a safe floor, though, because New Orleans’ top WR doesn’t have a dependable complement.

21. De'Von Achane The widely favored upside play won’t slip too far past this point of most drafts and will be taken ahead of this spot in some drafts.

22. Mike Evans The future Hall of Famer is 31 years old, but that is not an age to necessarily expect a significant overall drop in production at WR.

23. Drake London I am sure most will take London over Evans, and I totally understand why, but I do slightly prefer the Tampa Bay standout because he is more proven.

24. Josh Jacobs I believe Jacobs will resurrect his outlook with the move to Green Bay as a feature back for a much better offense. I am expecting double figures in TDs.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round Three

25. Davante Adams Obviously he no longer has a WR1 label as a fantasy player anymore. Adams, however, has stacked up over 100 targets in each of the last four seasons and is a solid pick at this point of the draft. He pairs well with Lamb as a WR2 for Team One.

26. Sam LaPorta In some drafts, LaPorta will be taken first at TE, and in others, Kelce will go off the board first. Some fantasy analysts don’t think LaPorta can approach 10 TDs again, but he will still finish among the top players at the position.

27. Travis Kelce As I indicated with the previous pick, just swap them if you want.

28. Brandon Aiyuk The drama is behind him now, and Aiyuk is a fine WR2 pick.

29. DK Metcalf His appeal elevated more with a 21-yard TD reception in Seattle’s season finale. Metcalf averaged a career-high 16.9 yards per catch last season and Ryan Grubb will look to take aggressive shots with his new top WR.

30. Malik Nabers I have heard and seen opposing takes from fantasy analysts on Nabers. Some will bank on the tremendous talent and upside. Others believe the Giants’ offensive doldrums will cap his ceiling. I am in the camp that wants to hop onto the Nabers train and enjoy the speedy ride to stardom.

31. Joe Mixon This is a quality third-round pick. Mixon will be the clear No. 1 runner and goal-line guy in a fast-rising Texans offense.

32. Cooper Kupp – He is now being picked in the second round of many drafts. But I don’t think the Rams’ passing game will quite support two WRs with second-round tags enough. One of them won’t perform as well as hoped.

33. George Pickens Pittsburgh’s unrivaled No. 1 WR will be heavily targeted, and Russell Wilson still throws a good deep ball.

34. Josh Allen At this spot, I opted for the No. 1 QB, knowing that a WR1 option in the same range/tier would be available just a few picks later on the turn.

35. Mark Andrews Another case where a top player at a position was taken over immediate need, as this team also was without a WR1. Getting a top 3 TE was hard to pass on.

36. Trey McBride Ideally I want to get a top 7 TE because the thinnest position in fantasy football can be a year-long source of frustration otherwise. McBride represents the end of the first tier at TE, and you can’t wait too much longer for the No. 1 starter.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round Four

37. Kenneth Walker III - As I have said since Walker came into the NFL, he can score from anywhere on the field. The 23-year-old Seahawk is a quality RB2 pick for potential weekly upside.

38. Deebo Samuel – He finished as a top 15 WR last season, but some minor overall TD regression may be ahead.

39. Amari Cooper Waited until the fourth round for a WR1 for Team 10, and Cooper is a respectable option here, even though he is more of a true fantasy WR2 type.

40. Dalton Kincaid As the premier pass-catcher for Allen, Kincaid could finish as a top 3 TE in 2024.

41. Michael Pittman Jr. – The Colts may seek to ease his reception load this year, but hopefully Pittman can catch more TDs from a healthy Anthony Richardson.

42. Jalen Hurts - At this spot, it was more appealing to get Hurts than one of the best RB2 types remaining, so I chose to see what RB could slip to Team 7 in Round Five.

43. James Cook The lack of ample TD output is concerning, but Cook should be busy enough otherwise to deliver a satisfactory fantasy return as a mid-fourth-rounder.

44. Rachaad White In 2023, White tied McCaffrey for the second-most rushing attempts in the NFL. This season, he might improve on the 3.6 yards per carry average with a slightly trimmed workload. White’s touches could go down, yet efficiency may improve.

45. Alvin Kamara His days of riding among the fantasy RB1 types are over. Kamara, however, will still be a focal point of an offense that is lacking in playmaking depth.

46. Patrick Mahomes I went for the Mahomes/Kelce stack for Team 3 here and planned to aim for the best available WR or RB early in the next round.

47. Javonte Williams A value pick who is rising inside the top 20 in my RB rankings, Williams may be on the verge of a breakthrough season. The terrible knee injuries are now almost two seasons behind him.

48. Kyren Williams How punt return duties and the presence of Blake Corum will affect Williams’ amount of touches remains to be seen. Speculating on his projected overall outlook is guesswork right now, so the significant new risk factor has to be figured into how much lower he should be drafted than he was just a week ago.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round Five

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Rashee Rice
  3. DeVonta Smith
  4. Kyle Pitts
  5. Jaylen Waddle
  6. D.J. Moore
  7. Aaron Jones
  8. Evan Engram
  9. Tee Higgins
  10. Calvin Ridley
  11. Terry McLaurin
  12. Zay Flowers

Fantasy Football Mock Draft – Round Six

  1. David Montgomery
  2. Anthony Richardson
  3. Christian Kirk
  4. D’Andre Swift
  5. James Conner
  6. Zamir White
  7. C.J. Stroud
  8. Diontae Johnson
  9. Stefon Diggs
  10. Rhamondre Stevenson
  11. Tony Pollard
  12. Tank Dell
